A location between urban parkland and the business district

Mercure Perth Aurea Kings Park is located in Perth’s CBD, close to the Swan River. It sits between Kings Park, one of the city’s most iconic green spaces, and the heart of the business district. This position allows the hotel to target both business and leisure guests.

The property offers 70 rooms and one suite. Some rooms feature private balconies overlooking the Perth skyline. Facilities include a restaurant and a bar.

A second asset with Capital Bay Management

The opening marks the second partnership between Accor and Capital Bay Management, following the launch of The Sebel West Perth. For the owner, the move to the Mercure brand is expected to broaden access to both leisure and corporate clientele.

The relationship is in line with the owner-retention strategy Accor is pursuing in Australia, illustrated by the renewal agreements signed for more than 40 hotels across the country.

With this property, Mercure now has three hotels in Perth. Adrian Williams, Chief Operating Officer Pacific at Accor, sees it as a sign of the brand’s growing appeal in this market.

He said the opening of Mercure Perth Aurea Kings Park was an important addition to Accor’s network in Western Australia. As the third Mercure hotel in Perth, he added, it reflects the brand’s growing appeal and the group’s commitment to delivering quality accommodation that connects guests with the unique character of each destination.

On LinkedIn, the executive also highlighted the shared commitment of Accor and Capital Bay Management to the Perth market, as well as the weight of Mercure, which he described as one of the group’s largest brands worldwide.

A “glocal” approach and a network of more than 420 properties in the Pacific

Mercure champions a “glocal” approach to hospitality, built on experiences inspired by the stories and character of each destination. The brand counts more than 1,000 hotels worldwide.

The term “glocal” comes directly from Accor’s press release. A portmanteau of global and local, it describes an international brand with shared standards that anchors each hotel in its destination (its culture, history, food and architecture). For Mercure, it reflects the brand’s long-standing positioning: a global network of more than 1,000 hotels, yet each property different and inspired by its surroundings.

The new hotel joins Accor’s Pacific network, which currently comprises more than 420 hotels, resorts and extended stay properties. The group continues to expand in the region, as shown by the recent signing of Novotel Sydney Castle Hill in the heart of the Nova Rêve precinct and the renovation of Peppers Clear Mountain, formerly Mercure Moreton Bay.

It also extends a strategy of partnerships with local owners and operators, already illustrated by the agreement with Bayview International to manage three hotels in the Pacific region.
