Hotels as the centrepiece of mixed-use precincts

Adrian Williams, Accor’s Chief Operating Officer for the Pacific region, describes Castle Hill as one of Sydney’s most dynamic growth corridors. He also sees it as confirmation of the role hotels can play within mixed-use developments.

Together with Reve Group we are bringing Novotel Sydney Castle Hill to life in early 2029, right in the middle of the new Nova Rêve precinct. With so much happening in transport, retail and new homes, Novotel will be right at the centre of it all. It means more places to stay, eat, catch up, and celebrate for locals and visitors alike. We’re seeing more hotels step up as the heart of these new mixed-use precincts across the Pacific develop.
This new signing adds to Accor’s Pacific line-up, with now more than 420 hotels, resorts, and extended stay properties. Adrian Williams, Chief Operating Officer PME -Pacific at Accor

An already dense Novotel network in Sydney

Our analysis – The project adds to what is already a solid midscale footprint for Accor across metropolitan Sydney. The group continues to operate Novotel Sydney Darling Harbour, in which Mulpha Australia recently acquired a one-third stake alongside Sun Hung Kai and Wentworth Capital, and in August handed leadership of the Pullman, Novotel and ibis complex at Sydney Olympic Park to Craig Kelmar, appointed General Manager after more than twenty-two years with the group.

More broadly, Accor continues to strengthen its Australian portfolio, as illustrated by the rebranding of four hotels from the Elanor Investors Group portfolio. With Castle Hill, the group is this time positioning Novotel in an emerging outer-suburban market, where the hotel offer is built into a mixed-use scheme from the outset.
