A 600th hotel on the doorstep of Denver’s airport

Everhome Suites Denver Airport is located less than 16 km from one of the busiest transport hubs in the United States. The property draws on a base of recurring demand typical of the segment: healthcare, logistics, construction, infrastructure and major employment centres.

Designed for longer stays, the hotel offers studios and one-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens and flexible living spaces. It is close to the Rocky Mountain Arsenal National Wildlife Refuge, Denver Zoo and Green Valley Ranch Golf Club.

The asset is owned by Rimrock Companies, for which it is the second Everhome Suites to open. Several further projects under the brand are in the owner’s pipeline.

For Choice Hotels, the milestone reflects more than thirty years in extended stay and sustained investment in teams and tools dedicated to franchisees. Matt McElhare, Vice President and Extended Stay Segment Lead at Choice Hotels International, said that opening the group’s 600th property celebrated how far it had come and pointed to the direction it was now taking, with Everhome Suites leading the way.

He stressed the operational specificity of the category, explaining that the segment demands a close understanding of a distinctive guest and rigorous operations, and that Choice’s scale allows it to keep investing in the new capabilities and innovation that support franchisee performance in a dynamic and competitive environment.

Everhome Suites, the portfolio’s growth engine

Launched as a new-build midscale brand, Everhome Suites has become one of the group’s main growth drivers. The brand, which passed the 30-hotel mark in June, less than four years after launch, has significant room to expand in what Choice identifies as the largest white space in extended stay.

The concept is built around apartment-style suites with fully equipped kitchens, spa-inspired bathrooms and customisable spaces, complemented by communal areas, a 24-hour fitness room, a laundry and self-service marketplaces.

On the owner side, buy-in is also measured by the long-term relationship with the brand. Micah Linton, CEO of Rimrock Companies, explained that Everhome Suites is a natural complement to the company’s WoodSpring Suites portfolio, giving it a more upscale, purpose-built extended stay product that appeals to a different guest in high-demand markets. He added that the relationship with Choice’s extended stay teams is central to Rimrock’s growth.

Four brands and nearly 30,000 rooms in the pipeline

Choice Hotels’ extended stay portfolio comprises four distinct brands: Everhome Suites, MainStay Suites, Suburban Studios and WoodSpring Suites. Each follows its own development strategy, offering developers clearly differentiated options.

In the second quarter of 2026, the segment recorded a 13% year-on-year net increase in rooms, its twelfth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth. The group also has nearly 30,000 extended stay rooms in its development pipeline, a momentum already highlighted when Choice Hotels published its half-year results.

Analysis – For the franchisor, the stakes go beyond simply counting openings. The scale it has built in extended stay serves as a selling point with developers and funds the roll-out of tools designed to keep franchisees competitive as the segment becomes more structured.

A leading player in hotel franchising

Choice Hotels International is one of the world’s largest hotel franchisors, with more than 7,500 hotels representing over 650,000 rooms in 51 countries and territories. Its portfolio of 22 brands spans upscale full-service, midscale, extended stay and economy.

The group is going through a busy period, marked by the appointment of Dominic Dragisich as President and Chief Executive Officer and the acquisition of Harvest Hosts in the RV travel market.
