A management agreement signed with Han Spaces
Fusion Hotel Group has signed a Hotel Management Agreement with Han Spaces for the future Fusion Resort Tuyen Lam Lake Da Lat. The resort will sit on the shores of Tuyen Lam Lake, surrounded by pine forest.
The project is the group’s first property in Vietnam’s Highlands. It extends the wellness positioning Fusion has championed since its creation, this time applied to a mountain destination.
Da Lat, new ground for wellness hospitality
The choice of Da Lat comes as the city has just been named Asia’s New Retreat Capital by Travel + Leisure magazine. The city’s climate, landscapes and identity lie at the heart of the owner’s project.
Tommy Tran, co-founder of Han Spaces, explains that Da Lat has always been far more to him than a beautiful destination. He says the owner’s vision is to create a resort connected to its landscape, climate and character, a place where guests can find space to breathe and experience Da Lat in a meaningful way.
For the operator, Christopher Hur, CEO of Fusion Hotel Group, sees an opportunity in step with changing demand. He points to considerable potential in Da Lat, noting that a growing segment of travellers now wants to slow down and reconnect with nature, and that wellness has always been at the heart of Fusion. Tuyen Lam Lake, he adds, offers an extraordinary setting in which to bring this experience to life and continue the group’s legacy as a creator of destinations.
A deliberate geographic diversification
The group presents the signing as a move beyond the coastal and urban destinations in which it has traditionally operated. The opening date and the resort’s capacity have not been disclosed at this stage.
The deal adds to a busy period for Fusion Hotel Group, which recently opened LÈGACY Hanoi, a 218-key wellness hotel in the Vietnamese capital. The group operates 26 properties under eight brands across Vietnam, Thailand and Indonesia, following its acquisition by Suchad Chiaranussati, founder of SC Capital Partners.
Its regional footprint has also grown with the integration of Topotels Hotels & Resorts’ Ayola and Odua brands in Indonesia, which marked the group’s entry into that market.
A Vietnamese market under competitive pressure
Analysis – By positioning itself in Da Lat, Fusion steps away from the major urban hubs where recent signings by international groups are concentrated, such as Minor Hotels, which signed Avani+ Hanoi, its first property in the capital. The group is thus betting on its knowledge of the domestic market and on a segment, wellness in nature destinations, where its brand already carries established credibility.
