Gabriel Garcías Pardo has become Vice President of Operations for Mexico and Jamaica at Royalton Hotels & Resorts, an appointment effective since 1 August 2026. He will oversee regional management of 11 of the chain’s hotels across the two markets, with a mandate to drive operational excellence, talent development, innovation and results for the group.

A rapid rise within the group

Gabriel Garcías Pardo‘s ascent at Royalton has unfolded over a remarkably short period. He joined the group in September 2024 as General Manager of the Royalton Splash Cancún, a 1,005-room Autograph Collection all-inclusive property, before taking on the role of Cluster General Manager at Blue Diamond Hotels & Resorts in March 2025, where he simultaneously led two large-capacity properties.

In a message posted on LinkedIn, the executive reflected on this accelerated trajectory. “This experience has exceeded all my expectations,” he said, thanking the group’s leadership by name, including Messrs Dueñas, Lozano and Pelfort, for the trust placed in him from the outset. He also praised the teams at the Royalton Splash Riviera Cancún and the Royalton Riviera Cancún, led respectively by Messrs Ávalos and Gómez.

A career built in the all-inclusive world

Before joining Royalton, Gabriel Garcías Pardo spent more than seven years at The Excellence Collection, where he served as Deputy Director of Operations from July 2016 to January 2023, supporting corporate teams and hotel leadership across three destinations: Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. He was subsequently promoted to Operations Director, Mexico and Jamaica, in January 2023.

His grounding as a hotel executive was built even earlier, at Excellence Group Luxury Hotels & Resorts, where he served as General Manager of the Excellence Punta Cana, a five-star property, from January 2009 to November 2012, and then of the Beloved Hotel until June 2016. That period also earned him an internal distinction, the Gerente General Excellence Punta Cana award. His career began at Prinsotel Hoteles y Apartamentos in the Balearic Islands, where he rose from front desk manager to property director between 2002 and 2009.

Outlook for Royalton in Mexico and Jamaica

The appointment comes as Royalton Hotels & Resorts continues its expansion across the region. The group has recently opened bookings for the Royalton Vessence Cancún, a new 376-suite Autograph Collection all-inclusive property in Cancún’s hotel zone, due to open on 1 March 2027. The brand’s regional portfolio continues to grow at a time when Mexico’s upscale hospitality market remains particularly sought after by institutional investors.

For Royalton Hotels & Resorts, this internal promotion confirms a governance strategy built on deep operational and corporate-culture knowledge, rather than external recruitment. Gabriel Garcías Pardo will be tasked with consolidating the performance of the 11 hotels under his responsibility, while supporting the group’s continued growth across its two key Caribbean markets.

United States | Goldman Sachs commits €351M to physical real estate with LCN Capital Partners acquisition

The Goldman Sachs Group announced on 18 August 2026 the acquisition of LCN Capital Partners, a platform specialising in sale & leaseback transactions, for a consideration of up to €351M ($410M). The deal gives Goldman Sachs Asset Management a specific area of expertise - the resale of corporate real estate while preserving its use through a long-term lease - after two years marked by high interest rates that curbed investment in physical real estate. For the hospitality sector, the acquisition is also a reminder that LCN held exclusive talks in 2025 to buy nine Silken hotels in Spain, before ultimately being outbid by Hotusa.
