Four Seasons Resort Bali at Jimbaran Bay has announced the appointment of Goeun Lee as Resort Manager, effective 1 September 2026. According to the group’s statement, this appointment marks something of a double return: Goeun Lee returns to both Four Seasons and Indonesia, a country she has known and cared for since her school years.

A decade built in Seoul

Goeun Lee spent nearly ten years at Four Seasons Hotel Seoul, rising from Learning Manager to Director of Rooms before taking on the role of Director of People & Culture. During this period, she contributed to the hotel earning its first Forbes Travel Guide five-star rating, a distinction it went on to retain for six consecutive years.

She also guided the hotel’s teams through the pandemic, helped lift employee engagement to its highest level in a decade, and contributed to halving staff turnover.

Island leadership experience in Jeju

More recently, Goeun Lee held the position of General Manager at Haevichi Hotel & Resort Jeju, in South Korea. This role allowed her to add the leadership of an island resort to an international career that now spans twenty-five years in hospitality.

This appointment forms part of a pattern of internal promotion that Four Seasons has recently demonstrated on several occasions, such as the three appointments announced in Nevis, Anguilla and Los Angeles, or the recent appointment of Gregory Viaud as General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita.

A people-first leadership style

Beyond her operational track record, it is her management style that colleagues point to. Goeun Lee is described as a leader who prioritises listening, empathy and attentiveness towards her teams — an approach seen as particularly well suited to Bali, where a strong sense of community shapes both island life and local hospitality.

Didier Jardin, General Manager of the Four Seasons Resorts Bali, said that Goeun Lee is an accomplished hotelier, but that it is her way of connecting with people that truly sets her apart. He added that she listens, cares about others and brings out the best in those around her, noting that these qualities will matter a great deal at Jimbaran Bay, and that the team is delighted to welcome her back to Four Seasons.

A personal connection to Indonesia

For Goeun Lee, this appointment also represents a return to a country she remains deeply attached to. She attended the Surabaya Intercultural School before earning a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel, Restaurant and Travel Administration in the United States, and has long regarded Indonesia as her second home.

Goeun Lee said that returning to Four Seasons in Bali makes this opportunity particularly meaningful to her. She said she is looking forward to getting to know the Jimbaran Bay team, learning alongside them and contributing to all they can achieve together, adding that it is also very special to make Indonesia her home once again.

Taking up the role, and life outside work

As Resort Manager, Goeun Lee will work closely with Didier Jardin and the Jimbaran Bay leadership team on resort operations, guest experience and talent development. On a personal note, she plans to welcome her daughters, Leah and Yuna, to Bali later this year.
