A first Grand Hyatt in Puerto Cancún
Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced on 15 September 2026 the opening, planned for December, of the Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort, which will mark the Grand Hyatt brand’s debut in the destination. The property, owned by Grupo Diestra, will sit at the heart of Puerto Cancún, a private residential development with a marina considered one of Mexico’s most ambitious beachfront projects.
The resort, fully all-inclusive, will comprise 500 rooms and suites, including 47 suites each with a private terrace overlooking the ocean or the marina. Some suites will feature private pools, while Grand Club rooms will provide access to an exclusive lounge offering continental breakfast and evening cocktails.
The site offers direct access to the marina, proximity to a well-known golf course, and is around 25 minutes from Cancún International Airport and the hotel zone.

Omar Vázquez, general manager of the Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort, said guests would be able to immerse themselves in Puerto Cancún, with its lively marina, white sand beaches and prime location, adding that every detail would be conceived through the lens of the Grand Hyatt brand.
At the resort’s entrance, visitors will find an installation by artist Teresa Solar, while ceramics by Mexican designer María Pizarro will feature throughout the property, reinforcing its local character.
A dining offer spread across fourteen venues
The Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort will feature fourteen restaurants and bars, reflecting the brand’s international culinary reputation. Announced concepts include Quattro, a northern Italian restaurant, Fiera San, dedicated to sushi and omakase, and Bistrot Cigalette, a French restaurant led by chef Thierry Blouet.
Latin American cuisine will be represented by Chacho and Los Fuegos del Sur, drawing on Argentine and Uruguayan influences, while Kaab will offer international breakfast, buffet and lunch. Mona Limona, Leonora’s Boulevardier Bar & Terraza, Saká, Grand Café & Market, Fiera Tacos and Paradiso round out an offering designed to cover every part of the day.
Wellness, beaches and beachfront living
The Ritua Sanctuary spa will be at the heart of the property’s wellness offering, featuring a traditional temazcal, outdoor relaxation areas and a fitness centre. Nine pools spread across several levels complete the offering, including an adults-only pool, an infinity pool and a pool dedicated to the Beach Club.
The private Beach Club will offer its own dining alongside access to water activities such as diving, snorkelling, kayaking, windsurfing and paddleboarding. Sailing or yacht excursions can be arranged from the nearby marina, with trips to coral reefs, cenotes and archaeological sites in the region. A Grand Kids Club will complete the offering for families.
This opening is part of Cancún’s sustained hotel momentum, where Hyatt recently opened the Hyatt Place Cancun Airport, the brand’s first hotel in the state of Quintana Roo.
Spaces designed for events
The resort will offer around 2,787 sqm of modular, single-level event space, complemented by several terraces and beachfront areas. The Great Ballroom can be divided into eight sections, alongside two breakout rooms and a boardroom, catering to formats ranging from small meetings to large-scale events.
A development driven by the group’s all-inclusive momentum
This opening comes as Hyatt reported, when publishing its second-quarter 2026 results, a record pipeline of nearly 154,000 rooms in development worldwide. The group, which claims more than 1,500 all-inclusive hotels and properties in 83 countries as of 30 June 2026, continues to strengthen its all-inclusive portfolio across Latin America and the Caribbean.
With the Grand Hyatt Cancun Beach Resort, Hyatt is applying the Grand Hyatt brand’s signature “destination within a destination” approach to this location, betting on a strategic setting, an expanded culinary offering and significant event spaces to position itself in the upscale all-inclusive segment.
