The Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita has announced the appointment of Gregory Viaud as General Manager. He takes up his new role as the Mauritian property begins a new chapter following its seven-month transformation, which reimagined the all-pool villas and residences, introduced new dining concepts and enhanced the overwater OSEYAN spa.

A return to island life

Gregory Viaud arrives in Mauritius from Four Seasons Hotel Rabat Kasr Al Bahr, where he served as opening General Manager. There, he successfully steered the launch of the property in the Moroccan capital, a project that La Tribune de l’Hôtellerie followed from its earliest announcement.

His new posting in Mauritius represents both a new destination and a return to familiar territory. After eight years spent across the Four Seasons resorts of Bora Bora, Bali and Maui, Gregory Viaud has developed a deep appreciation for island life and for the particular bond between hospitality, local community and the natural environment that defines the guest experience in destinations of this kind.

Gregory Viaud said that Mauritius was a remarkable destination and that he was delighted to be joining the resort at such an exciting point in its evolution. He added that what inspired him most was the opportunity to work alongside an exceptional team to create authentic experiences reflecting the warmth, culture and natural beauty of Mauritius, while deepening the resort’s connection with the local community.

A career built within the Four Seasons group

A graduate of the Vatel Nîmes Hotel and Tourism Business School in the south of France, Gregory Viaud began his career with Four Seasons in 2004 at the Four Seasons Hotel London at Park Lane. His career subsequently took him from Bora Bora, Bali and Maui to the Beverly Wilshire, A Four Seasons Hotel, in Los Angeles, before management roles at the Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia at Comcast Center and then the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort.

He was then named opening General Manager of the Four Seasons Hotel Rabat Kasr Al Bahr, a role he held prior to his appointment in Mauritius. Throughout his career, Gregory Viaud has developed a people-first management philosophy, grounded in the belief that outstanding guest experiences begin with empowered teams, genuine relationships and a shared sense of service.

A new chapter for the resort following its transformation

In Mauritius, Gregory Viaud will be responsible for leading the resort into its new chapter, following a major transformation that reshaped the all-pool villas and rental residences, introduced new dining concepts and enhanced the offering at OSEYAN, the island’s only overwater spa. His focus will be on showcasing the resort’s distinctive identity, while celebrating the warmth of Mauritian hospitality and developing experiences that strengthen guests’ connection to the island and its culture.

Gregory Viaud said he had always believed that the most memorable hotels and resorts were those that truly belonged to their destination. He noted that Mauritius possessed an extraordinary richness, from its people and cultures to its landscapes and traditions, and said he was looking forward to discovering it alongside his family and finding new ways to bring that spirit to life for guests.

Personal life and island ties

Outside the resort, Gregory Viaud is a hands-on family man and keen runner who plays football and tennis with his wife and two children. Having lived in several island destinations, he has developed a passion for the ocean and marine life, which he now shares with his family through exploring the sea and its natural surroundings. Together, they also enjoy travelling and discovering the culture, history and local gastronomy of the destinations they visit or call home.
