A first working session with the Guinean Development Agency

On Tuesday 6 October 2026, the Guinean Development Agency hosted a delegation from Groupe Duval, led by its founder and Chairman, Éric Duval. The meeting took the form of a working session dedicated to investment opportunities in Guinea.
The Agency presented its investor support framework, along with the opportunities the country offers in the sectors concerned. It placed these opportunities within the framework of the Simandou 2040 Programme.
Construction and hospitality at the heart of the discussions
The talks first turned to construction, with the group outlining new building approaches that could be deployed in the Guinean market.
The second focus was hospitality and tourism. In this sector, Groupe Duval ranks among Europe’s leading operators of tourist residences, an activity carried by its MAGORA division, formerly Odalys, whose presidency was entrusted to Marine Charles in January 2026.
A family-owned group already established in Africa
A French family-owned group that has become a purpose-driven company (entreprise à mission), Groupe Duval generates revenue of €1 billion. It employs 6,000 people in some 20 countries.
Africa holds a significant place in this footprint. The group operates in ten African countries, where it has 1,500 employees. It has invested more than €400 million there in major real estate projects, from Dakar to Abidjan.
In France, the group has recently stepped up asset-led operations with a strong operational component, from the 30-year concession of the Cercle National des Armées to the conversion of the Cité administrative in Lille.
An initial contact set to take shape
This first meeting is intended to identify concrete leads. No project, amount or timetable has been made public at this stage.
For the Guinean Development Agency, the initiative is in line with its mission: mobilising private investment to support the country’s economic transformation.
Analysis – For a player that combines property development, investment and the operation of tourist residences, Guinea would represent a new West African market, building on its positions in Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire. The link to the Simandou 2040 Programme indicates that the Guinean authorities are seeking to anchor real estate and accommodation in their economic development strategy.
