A first Four Seasons address in the Dominican Republic

On 29 September 2026, Four Seasons announced the appointment of Hervé Fucho as General Manager of Four Seasons Resort Dominican Republic at Tropicalia, which is scheduled to open in 2027. The resort is located on the country’s north-east coast, fronting Playa Esmeralda.

The project is being developed by Cisneros Real Estate. It is positioned as a sustainable luxury resort, with tropical modernist architecture designed to open the guest experience onto the site’s natural surroundings.

Hervé Fucho says he was drawn to the project by the opportunity to create a luxury experience rooted in sustainability. Protecting natural resources, supporting local communities and introducing guests to the singular beauty of each destination are, he explains, values that have guided his career, and he is proud to bring them to life at this exceptional resort.

From Angoulême to Michelin-starred kitchens in Hong Kong

Born in Angoulême, Hervé Fucho grew up in a family environment centred on gastronomy and creativity. After hotel school, he honed his craft in restaurants in England, Ireland and Germany before joining Four Seasons.

He now has nearly thirty years with the group behind him, across three continents. Notably, he served as Executive Chef in Punta Mita and Hong Kong, where he oversaw a Michelin-starred dining offer.

He then moved into resort operations, first at a former Four Seasons property in St Petersburg, Russia, and then as Resort Manager of Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo, Mexico. There, he helped create a sustainable farm that connects guests with local agricultural traditions.

Viewpoint – This career path, from the kitchen range to operational leadership, is well suited to a project whose offer rests in part on a working farm and on local culinary traditions.

According to Antoine Chahwan, President, Hotel Operations – Americas at Four Seasons, Hervé combines rare operational excellence with a deep commitment to sustainability. Throughout his career at Four Seasons, he adds, Hervé has consistently elevated the guest experience while inspiring his teams, making him the ideal leader for the group’s first property in the Dominican Republic.

Four Seasons is thereby strengthening its leadership teams in the Caribbean, following recent appointments in Nevis and Anguilla.

A project championed by Cisneros for nearly twenty years

Four Seasons and Cisneros Real Estate announced the project in September 2023. The appointment forms part of a vision championed by Cisneros, which has been present on this stretch of Dominican coastline for nearly twenty years. Tropicalia is conceived as a destination where local culinary traditions, conservation and cultural heritage come together.

Adriana Cisneros, CEO of Cisneros, says the company is delighted to welcome Hervé at the helm of this flagship destination. His deep commitment to sustainability and operational excellence, she adds, aligns perfectly with Cisneros’ vision for Tropicalia and with its long-standing commitment to responsible development in the Dominican Republic.

This Caribbean project adds to other openings announced in the region, including Four Seasons’ arrival in Puerto Rico with the Paulson group. It also forms part of the group’s global development programme.

95 keys and 25 residences on a 24-hectare estate

Designed by Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld, the resort will feature 95 rooms and suites as well as 25 private residences. It will offer an extensive range of wellness, leisure and dining experiences.

The 24-hectare private estate brings together beaches, coral reefs, mountains, forests and lagoons. It includes a working farm that supplies the resort with organic produce, honey, dairy products and eggs.

Guests will have access to water sports, whale watching and sea turtle conservation programmes. Los Haitises National Park is nearby, and a mountainside golf course is due to open on the estate at a later date.

Away from the resort, Hervé Fucho enjoys kitesurfing, windsurfing and skydiving.
