A final quarter defined by luxury

As the fourth quarter of 2026 approaches, Hyatt Hotels Corporation (NYSE: H) is highlighting a phase of growth concentrated on its upscale brands in the Americas. The group is relying on three levers: strengthening Park Hyatt in Mexico, new additions to The Unbound Collection by Hyatt and the steady rise of Alila across the continent.

The group presents this sequence as considered growth. Its stated aim is to broaden its geographical reach while giving each brand and each property a distinct identity of its own.

Tamara Lohan, Global Brand Leader – Luxury at Hyatt, sums up this approach: “Across the Americas, our portfolio is growing with those principles in mind: from the Park Hyatt brand’s next chapter in Mexico to the Alila brand’s expansion in the Riviera Maya earlier this year, to the independent character of the beautifully individual hotels in The Unbound Collection by Hyatt. Our focus is to grow thoughtfully and give travelers more choice while ensuring each hotel has a clear point of view and highly personal service at its center.”

Park Hyatt: three addresses, one country

Park Hyatt Cabo del Sol opened in December 2025 as the brand’s first hotel in Mexico. Set on the coast of Baja California Sur, it brings Park Hyatt’s residential approach to life through contemporary Mexican architecture, oceanfront dining and a wellness programme inspired by the surrounding landscape.

Park Hyatt Riviera Maya is due to open by the end of 2026 and represents the most significant announcement of the sequence: it will be the world’s first all-inclusive Park Hyatt. Located on a secluded stretch of Mexico’s Caribbean coastline, the resort sets out a different reading of the model, built on choice and discretion. This translates in particular into personalised pre-arrival planning and entirely à la carte dining.

The third element, Park Hyatt Mexico City Polanco, is due to welcome its first guests in spring 2027. Located on Avenida Campos Elíseos in the Polanco district, the 155-room-and-suite hotel will overlook Chapultepec Park. Mexican art, interior design and cuisine will shape both its spaces and its culinary offering. This long-term project had already been marked by the appointment of Christophe Hilty as pre-opening general manager.

Hyatt presents the three properties as a coherent whole. Guests will be able to combine a stay in the capital with time on either coast, under a single service signature.

Analysis – Park Hyatt’s arrival in the all-inclusive segment marks a milestone for one of the group’s most exclusive brands. It comes on a Riviera Maya where the upscale offering is becoming increasingly dense, as illustrated by the recent arrival of Kimpton in the all-inclusive segment with Kimpton Tres Ríos.

The Unbound Collection continues to grow

In the Americas, The Unbound Collection by Hyatt continues to expand with independent properties distinguished by their architecture, history and service. One such example is The Clayfield in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, which draws its inspiration from the region’s clay-rich soils and vineyards. Its opening was recently covered in our columns.

On 2 November, Impression Isla Mujeres will join the collection. The adults-only, all-inclusive resort will bring its suite-led accommodation, butler service and highly personalised hospitality.

The collection, which celebrates its tenth anniversary in 2026, will this year launch a programme of locally rooted experiences. It will include private culinary and wine experiences, as well as behind-the-scenes access to local culture, artists and makers. The Georgian, Hotel La Compañía Casco Antiguo and Impression Isla Mujeres are among the first properties involved.

Alila consolidates its presence on the continent

Alila’s portfolio in the Americas now comprises Alila Ventana Big Sur, Alila Napa Valley, Alila Marea Beach Resort Encinitas and, since February 2026, Alila Mayakoba, the brand’s first property in Latin America.

Set within Mayakoba on the Riviera Maya, the 24-hectare resort extends across beach, lagoon and jungle. It has 182 rooms, suites and villas, six restaurants and an Alila Spa. Local materials, collaborations with regional artisans and a wellbeing programme developed with local practitioners root the experience in the Yucatán Peninsula.

From 1 October, Alila’s four properties in the Americas join Erewhon’s Member Lifestyle Collective. The partnership opens the brand to a highly engaged audience committed to wellbeing and intentional living.

Grand Hyatt follows suit

Alongside its luxury portfolio, Hyatt is planning three Grand Hyatt openings in Latin America and the Caribbean in the fourth quarter of 2026: Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman, Grand Hyatt Cancun and Grand Hyatt Los Cabos.

These resorts position the brand in highly sought-after leisure destinations. In Cancún and Los Cabos, they also introduce the all-inclusive format to Grand Hyatt’s offering in the Americas.
