Shangri-La Group announces the launch of its JEN by Shangri-La brand in Hangzhou, with the soft opening of JEN Hangzhou by Shangri-La. The property embodies the brand’s “Live New Asia” spirit in one of eastern China’s most dynamic destinations, where cultural heritage meets fast-evolving urban energy. The tenth JEN property worldwide, the hotel is designed as a lively gathering place for travellers and the local community to connect, exchange ideas and explore the city from a new perspective.

Located in Gongshu District, on the site of the historic former Hangzhou Oxygen Plant, JEN Hangzhou forms part of the Hangzhou Kerry Plaza complex. The hotel’s design preserves the site’s industrial character through its brick walls, complemented by floor-to-ceiling windows creating a modern urban residence with a strong cultural identity. Artwork throughout the property draws on Hangzhou’s urban culture and Grand Canal heritage, celebrating the city’s relationship with its waterways through a contemporary lens. The hotel benefits from a setting rich in cultural sites, close to the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Grand Canal and the historic Qiaoxi district, with easy access to major transport hubs.

A recovery-focused spa offers personalised treatments blending Asian wellness wisdom with modern recovery science.
