An expanded Resorts & Lodges portfolio

The newly expanded Resorts & Lodges division now brings together all of Journey Beyond’s accommodation and resort assets. The portfolio includes Ayers Rock Resort, Sal Salis, Monarto Safari Resort, the Outback Spirit Lodges and the Kakadu Crocodile Hotel.

The group is also preparing to open two new properties on K’gari Island, Kingfisher Bay Resort and K’gari Beach Resort, further diversifying a portfolio that already spans the Australian continent.

Chris Tallent, Chief Executive Officer of Journey Beyond, welcomed the appointment. He said Boundy would lead the group’s newly expanded Resorts & Lodges division at a strategic moment for the company, and that her commercial and customer expertise, combined with her proven track record in driving growth and leading high-performing teams, placed her ideally to strengthen the portfolio, build demand across the group’s destinations, elevate the experience for both guests and staff, and create long-term value for the division.

The appointment comes amid a broader wave of hotel management changes in Australia, following the recent appointment of Bastian Germer as General Manager of the Park Hyatt Sydney and that of Craig Kelmar at Accor’s Sydney Olympic Park precinct. The market’s ongoing management restructuring is further reflected in the recent strengthening of La Vie Hotels & Resorts’ corporate platform in the Pacific.

For her part, Jo Boundy said she was excited to join the group. She said Journey Beyond had built an incredible collection of tourism experiences and destinations that showcase the best of Australia, and that she was delighted to be joining the company at such an important time, adding that she looked forward to working with the teams to further strengthen these iconic properties, create outstanding guest experiences, and continue building demand for some of Australia’s most unique and extraordinary destinations.

Jo Boundy will be based in Sydney and will officially take up the role from 9 November.
