Three hotels, three cities, 735 rooms
Leonardo Hotels is pressing ahead with its expansion in Germany, taking over three former Revo Group hotels in Munich, Hanover and Braunschweig. The deal adds 735 rooms to the operator’s German portfolio.
The group is thereby strengthening its presence in two cities where it already operates, Munich and Hanover, and entering Braunschweig, in Lower Saxony, for the first time. The three properties join the network as Leonardo Royal Munich Bavaria Towers, Leonardo Hannover City Center and Leonardo Braunschweig City Center.
Munich: Leonardo Royal Munich Bavaria Towers
In the Bavarian capital, the former HYPERION Hotel becomes the Leonardo Royal Munich Bavaria Towers. The property offers 341 rooms and studios, six meeting rooms and around 700 sqm of conference and event space.
It is the largest of the three hotels acquired. According to the group, it significantly broadens its Munich offering and brings the number of Leonardo hotels in the city to twelve.
Hanover and Braunschweig: two addresses opposite the main stations
In Hanover, the former Intercity Hotel Hannover, next to the main railway station, joins the network as the Leonardo Hannover City Center. It features 220 rooms, a restaurant, a bar, an outdoor terrace and five meeting rooms. Leonardo Hotels now has four hotels in the city.
In Braunschweig, the Leonardo Braunschweig City Center marks the brand’s arrival in this Lower Saxony city. Also located close to the main station, it offers 174 rooms, four meeting rooms, a restaurant and a bar.
The group said it was delighted to welcome its new employees and intends to continue growing its presence in Germany alongside them.
A second wave after Berlin, Düsseldorf and Dortmund
The announcement comes just weeks after the acquisition of four former Revo Hotels in Berlin, Düsseldorf and Dortmund, a deal that added 1,040 rooms to the Leonardo Hotels Central Europe portfolio. At the time, the group indicated that further properties from the Revo portfolio would join its network in the following weeks.
The Revo portfolio has been in the process of being redistributed since Revo Hospitality Group, Europe’s leading white-label hotel operator, filed for insolvency in self-administration on 16 January 2026 at the Charlottenburg District Court in Berlin. Other players are also positioning themselves on these assets: in July, Sunday Hotels took on 24 former Revo hotels under management contracts.
Leonardo Hotels, consolidator of the German market
Analysis – With these two deals, Leonardo Hotels has taken over seven former Revo hotels, totalling 1,775 rooms, in the space of a few weeks. The group is favouring central urban locations close to railway stations, and assets with meeting capacity.
This strategy is unfolding in a German market weakened by the Revo collapse and by an average room rate among the lowest in Europe. It also extends the momentum of Leonardo Hotels Central Europe, part of the Fattal Hotel Group, which recently acquired the former Hilton in Évian-les-Bains in France.
