LXR Hotels & Resorts makes its debut in India
Hilton continues to develop its upscale and luxury portfolio in India with the opening of The Den Bengaluru, LXR Hotels & Resorts.
Located in Whitefield, a district of Bengaluru historically associated with the development of technology businesses and international services, the 226-room property marks the first LXR Hotels & Resorts location in India.
The hotel is owned by Dan Hospitality India Pvt. Ltd. and managed by Hilton.
The transaction involves bringing an existing property into the LXR collection, which brings together luxury hotels that retain their individual identities while benefiting from Hilton’s operational standards and distribution network.
For the owner, this affiliation provides access to Hilton’s commercial ecosystem and its Hilton Honors loyalty programme, without sacrificing the property’s local identity.
The announcement does not disclose the financial terms of the management agreement or any investment undertaken to support the hotel’s integration into the collection.
Whitefield, a strategic market for upscale hospitality
The arrival of LXR in Bengaluru reflects the growing importance of the Indian market within Hilton’s development plans.
The city benefits from strong economic activity, particularly in technology, business services and international trade. Whitefield is one of its principal business districts, attracting a mix of corporate travellers, extended-stay guests and leisure visitors.

Zubin Saxena, Senior Vice President and Regional Head, South Asia at Hilton, emphasises India’s importance in the group’s growth strategy.
According to Saxena, evolving expectations among Indian luxury travellers are creating new opportunities for brands offering personalised experiences with strong connections to their destinations.
LXR’s arrival in Bengaluru therefore enables Hilton to broaden its offering in a market where demand for upscale accommodation is no longer confined to traditional luxury hotels.
226 rooms, diverse dining options and 1,950 sq m of event space
The Den Bengaluru offers 226 guestrooms, studios and suites catering to business travellers, leisure guests and extended stays.
Its food and beverage offering comprises four concepts: Layla, a rooftop restaurant combining Indian and Mediterranean influences; The Creek, an all-day dining venue; The Deli, specialising in coffee and pastries; and The Cold Press, serving cold-pressed juices and wellness-focused beverages.
Facilities also include The Sanctuary, a spa combining contemporary practices with traditional treatments; The Studio, a fitness facility; and an outdoor swimming pool.
The property features two additional leisure spaces: The Playhouse, offering digital games and billiards, and The Cave, designed around an immersive screening experience.
For meetings, events and celebrations, the hotel provides more than 21,000 sq ft of flexible event space, equivalent to approximately 1,950 sq m, across seven venues, including a ballroom, an auditorium, meeting rooms and an outdoor amphitheatre.
This event capacity is an important element of the property’s positioning within Bengaluru’s corporate market.
Two programmes designed to reinforce the property’s local identity
The integration into LXR is accompanied by the introduction of two programmes intended to reflect the brand’s experiential positioning.
The first, The Pause Program, adopts an approach to hospitality centred on rest and recovery. It includes welcome touches on arrival, in-room amenities designed to support sleep, a pillow selection and tailored dining options.
The second, Whitefield Unscripted, aims to introduce guests to the neighbourhood beyond the hotel environment.
Experiences include the Whitefield Verandah Trail, exploring historic residences and local institutions, and Whitefield’s Farm Story, which allows guests to participate in a harvest at a local farm before enjoying a personalised meal prepared by the hotel’s culinary team.
These initiatives reflect LXR’s positioning, which favours destination-specific experiences over a fully standardised offering.
Hilton continues its luxury development strategy in India

For Dino Michael, Senior Vice President and Category Head, Hilton Luxury, the addition of The Den Bengaluru reflects the philosophy of LXR: bringing together properties selected for their individual character and their ability to offer a distinctive experience of their destination.
The hotel’s integration enables Hilton to extend the geographical reach of the collection while strengthening its luxury offering in the Indian market.
This strategy relies in part on the group’s ability to connect hotel assets owned by independent proprietors with its brands, distribution systems and loyalty programme.
In the case of The Den Bengaluru, the commercial opportunity lies in combining a property already established in its local market with Hilton’s international visibility.
However, the announcement provides no performance forecasts, RevPAR targets or timetable for further LXR openings in India.
Vinesh Gupta as General Manager
The Den Bengaluru is managed by General Manager Vinesh Gupta.
Gupta emphasises that the property has maintained close ties with the Whitefield neighbourhood since its inception, and that joining LXR should allow it to build on this identity through personalised experiences.
The hotel also joins Hilton Honors, the loyalty programme shared across the group’s 28 brands, offering members benefits including preferential rates, digital features and integrated booking options.
With this first opening, Hilton adds another luxury brand to its presence in India, as part of a strategy to diversify its portfolio and develop properties whose local identity is central to their positioning.
