Minor Hotels, an owner, operator and investor with more than 640 branded hotels, resorts and residences across 67 countries, has announced the signing of the Anantara Jadcherla Hyderabad Resort, a 15-hectare waterfront development in the southern Indian state of Telangana. The opening is scheduled for 2029.
A waterfront site on the edge of Hyderabad
The resort will sit on the outskirts of Hyderabad, roughly 71 kilometres — about an hour’s drive — from Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, and around 90 kilometres, or ninety minutes by road, from the city centre. The location places the property close to one of India’s most dynamic metropolitan areas while preserving a natural setting on the shores of a reservoir.
185 keys, villas and branded residences
The Anantara Jadcherla Hyderabad Resort will feature 185 keys, with rooms starting at 48 sqm, alongside 47 pool villas ranging from 90 to 280 sqm. The project also includes 50 branded residences adjacent to the resort, aimed at owners seeking a permanent address on the reservoir’s shores.
A design inspired by Telangana’s architectural heritage
The resort’s design draws on the architectural legacy of the Kakatiya dynasty, with stone construction and geometric motifs carried throughout the public spaces and villas. The approach seeks to reinterpret the region’s heritage through the lens of contemporary luxury hospitality.
Dining, wellness and events
The dining offer will include an all-day dining restaurant, two speciality restaurants and a wellness-focused café, complemented by a lobby lounge and a pool bar. On the leisure side, guests will have access to an Anantara spa, a fitness centre, an outdoor pool and a kids’ club. The resort will also feature a ballroom, several flexible meeting rooms and an outdoor event space for conferences and receptions.
Ashya Group, a conglomerate investing in hospitality
Ashya Group, whose portfolio spans minerals, infrastructure, hospitality, food and wellness, is marking its first hospitality project with this resort. Shashider Reddy Munugala, founder and chairman of Ashya Group, said the Anantara Jadcherla Hyderabad Resort reflected the group’s conviction that hospitality should be guided by nature and its surroundings. He added that every element of the development, from the stone construction to its setting on the reservoir’s shores, had been designed to bring guests closer to the culture and landscape of Telangana, and that the group was looking forward to bringing the project to life with Minor Hotels, drawing on the latter’s recognised expertise in building nature-based destinations that respect the places they inhabit.
Minor Hotels deepens its footprint in India
William E. Heinecke, chairman and founder of Minor International, Minor Hotels’ parent company, said the Anantara Jadcherla Hyderabad Resort illustrated what the Anantara brand does best: bringing guests closer to the authentic character of a destination. He said the waterfront setting and the project’s distinctive architectural vision would allow the group to build this immersive experience under the right conditions, and that the partnership with Ashya Group marked an important step in strengthening the company’s presence in southern India.
Minor Hotels entered the Indian market in 2025 with the opening of the Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur Hotel. Since then, the group has continued to expand in the country, most recently with the Anantara Zanti Coorg Resort and Anantara Kolkata Hotel signings, announced in April 2026, as well as the Avani+ Sunray Beach Visakhapatnam Resort signed in 2025. The group is now targeting 50 properties in India within the coming decade, part of a broader trend of major international hotel groups expanding into the Indian market.
