A new lifestyle destination in Bangkok’s historic Bang Lamphu neighbourhood

On 20 October 2026, Hyatt announced the opening of QURO Bangkok Riverside, a 62-room hotel located along the Chao Phraya River on Phra Athit Road, in Bangkok’s Bang Lamphu neighbourhood.

The property joins Unscripted by Hyatt, a collection of independent hotels with distinctive identities within the American group’s portfolio.

With this new property, Hyatt continues to diversify its offering in Thailand, favouring a relatively small-scale hotel whose positioning is based more on a sense of place than on a standardised guest experience.

Located close to Khao San Road, the National Museum, the Grand Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun, QURO Bangkok Riverside aims to attract travellers wishing to discover Bangkok through its historic neighbourhoods and cultural life.

A 62-room hotel designed around local identity

QURO Bangkok Riverside’s concept combines contemporary architecture, cultural references and design inspired by its surroundings.

The name QURO derives from the word curate, reflecting an approach centred on selecting and bringing together experiences.

The property offers 62 guestrooms with contemporary interiors, including floor-to-ceiling windows, integrated fittings and, in certain room categories, private balconies.

The hotel favours a residential atmosphere and a less conventional approach to the urban hotel stay.

According to Sunshine Jeamjirarat, General Manager of QURO Bangkok Riverside, the ambition is to bring together local experiences and a sense of spontaneous creativity in a property that retains its own personality while benefiting from the Hyatt ecosystem.

Rooftop, dining and urban experiences

Food and beverage is an important component of the property’s positioning.

QURO Gallery, located on the ground floor, offers an experience combining design, art and culture.

On the rooftop, QURO River highlights views over the Chao Phraya River, handcrafted cocktails and a welcoming atmosphere.

The hotel also features BEANS Coffee Roaster and Silpa Riverside Restaurant, whose culinary offering draws inspiration from Thai flavours and Bangkok’s identity.

This variety of dining outlets reflects the intention to create a destination that attracts customers beyond the hotel’s resident guests, while becoming part of the neighbourhood’s everyday life.

Unscripted by Hyatt: A collection built around individuality

The Unscripted by Hyatt brand brings together hotels whose identities are defined by their individual character, local connections and a less standardised guest experience.

Hyatt positions the collection within accessible lifestyle hospitality, emphasising the personality of each property, human connections and spontaneity.

Properties retain their individual identities while benefiting from the group’s distribution network, commercial visibility and World of Hyatt loyalty programme.

QURO Bangkok Riverside participates in the programme, allowing eligible members to earn and redeem points during their stays.

With this opening, Hyatt’s portfolio in Thailand reaches 16 hotels.

LTH Analysis | Small-scale lifestyle hotels as a diversification strategy for major hotel groups

The addition of QURO Bangkok Riverside illustrates the growing interest among international hotel groups in relatively small properties with strong individual identities.

With just 62 guestrooms, the hotel stands apart from the large international properties traditionally associated with hotel development in Asian metropolitan markets.

Its positioning rests on three elements: a location in a culturally distinctive neighbourhood, contemporary architecture and dining venues capable of attracting non-resident customers.

For Hyatt, this type of property offers an opportunity to broaden its portfolio without necessarily replicating the architectural and operational standards of a conventional hotel brand.

The model’s appeal lies in balancing the property’s perceived independence with the group’s commercial strength: international distribution, a loyalty programme and visibility among travellers.

The proliferation of such collections reflects a shift in hotel portfolio strategies. Major operators are increasingly seeking to attract customers who value authenticity, design and local experiences, while retaining the economic advantages of their distribution platforms.

The real challenge will be to preserve QURO Bangkok Riverside’s distinctive identity over time while translating its lifestyle positioning into commercial performance and guest loyalty.
