An appointment marked by a centenary
Grand Hotel Central Barcelona has announced the arrival of Raimon Senpau as General Manager. He took up his post in September 2026. The hotel places the appointment within a particular timeline: the building that houses the property is celebrating its hundredth anniversary this year.
In its announcement, the hotel stated that Raimon Senpau, who has extensive experience in the hotel sector, was joining to lead the team at a very special moment, namely the year in which its building celebrates its centenary. The management is counting on his experience to keep advancing what defines the house: attention to detail, memorable experiences and the connection between its guests and Barcelona.
More than twenty years in leadership in Barcelona
Raimon Senpau has built most of his career in the Catalan capital, alternating between independent properties and group hotels. He held his first general manager role from 2005 to 2008 at Gran Hotel Rey Don Jaime, a four-star hotel. He then joined Gran Hotel Princesa Sofia, a five-star property, as Food and Beverage Director from 2008 to 2011.
In 2011, he returned to a general manager role at Olivia Plaza Hotel, a four-star superior property. A year later, he took the helm of Hotel Condes de Barcelona, a four-star hotel he led for more than eleven years, from September 2012 to November 2023. It is the longest chapter of his career.

From hilltop luxury to a seaside cluster
From January 2024, Raimon Senpau ran Gran Hotel La Florida, a five-star grand luxury hotel, until January 2025. Over the same period, he served at SUNSET Hotels & Resorts as Cluster General Manager of METT Barcelona Hotel and Casa METT Sitges, from January 2024 to December 2025.
This experience of multi-property management, spanning an urban hotel and a seaside address, rounded out a career that had until then focused on running a single property. He has also worked on pre-opening projects and banqueting operations.
A Catalan education
Raimon Senpau holds a degree in hotel management from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. He also holds the European Hotel Diploma.
