Rixos Phu Quoc Vietnam has announced the appointment of Stefano Capaccetti as General Manager. He takes the helm of a property that is strategic to the brand’s rollout across Southeast Asia, as the group prepares to open its largest resort in the region.
A major project on Hon Thom Island
Rixos Phu Quoc Vietnam is the brand’s first hotel in Southeast Asia. The property will feature 1,500 rooms and 24 restaurants and bars, a scale that will make it one of the region’s largest all-inclusive complexes once open.
Stefano Capaccetti joined the team in August 2026 to support the pre-opening phase, a key period during which the property’s culture, organisation and guest experience are established.
A career built on openings and complex markets
Stefano Capaccetti brings fifteen years of experience within Rixos Hotels. Since September 2021 he had served as General Manager of Rixos Qetaifan North in Doha, a property opened for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Prior to that, he held the role of Special Project Manager within the group president’s office, based in Dubai, between 2018 and 2021.
His career at Rixos also includes serving as General Manager of Rixos Premium Dubai Jumeirah Beach Residence, as well as leading Rixos Hotels The Land of Legends Theme Park in Antalya, Turkey. He also held a cluster leadership role covering Rixos President Astana and Rixos Borovoe in Kazakhstan, following an earlier posting as General Manager of Rixos President Astana.
Before joining Rixos, Stefano Capaccetti began his hospitality career with the Rezidor group, as Executive Assistant Manager at the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa Dubrovnik Sun Gardens in Croatia. He also served as Director of Operations at the Hilton Glasgow, then at the Hilton Imperial Dubrovnik, where he took part in the property’s opening. His professional career began at the opening of the Hilton Rome Airport in Italy, where he worked as Food & Beverage Manager.
Rixos continues its expansion across Asia
This appointment comes as Rixos steps up expansion beyond its historic markets in the Gulf and Turkey. The group recently made its debut on the American continent with Rixos Cancún, while cementing its presence in Southeast Asia with the Phú Quốc project, accessible via the world’s longest overwater cable car.
