A portfolio stretching from Waikiki to the Kohala Coast

Prince Resorts Hawaii (PRH) has appointed Yusuke Ishii as president. He succeeds Shigeki Yamane, who is returning to Japan.

Yusuke Ishii will oversee all of PRH‘s assets: the Prince Waikiki, The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort and the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, together with three golf courses – the Hawaii Prince Golf Club, the Hapuna Golf Course and the Mauna Kea Golf Course. The portfolio combines a city property in Honolulu with a resort and golf cluster on the island of Hawaii.

Under Shigeki Yamane’s leadership, Prince Resorts Hawaii strengthened its reputation for guest service, employee engagement and operational excellence in a rapidly changing hospitality landscape, according to the company.

An internal promotion

Previously vice president of Prince Resorts Hawaii, Yusuke Ishii now steps up to the presidency of the company. He has also led the Hotel and Leisure sector of Seibu Holdings Inc., PRH’s parent company, in Japan, where he was responsible for the group’s hotel, leisure and resort operations.

He also played a key role in shaping Prince Hotels’ competitive strategy and investment initiatives in Hawaii. His appointment therefore hands the presidency to an executive who knows the Hawaiian assets both from the Japanese headquarters and from within the local leadership team.

People as an operational lever

The new president intends to uphold PRH’s reputation as one of Hawaii’s Best Places to Work by continuing to invest in its employees. He highlights a corporate culture built on respect, teamwork and professional development.

For Yusuke Ishii, team satisfaction has a direct bearing on the quality of the guest experience. It is a priority shared by operators across the archipelago, where several leadership teams have recently changed, as illustrated by the appointment of Jason de Vries at Four Seasons Resort Oahu at Ko Olina and that of Monika Henry at Royal Sonesta Kaua’i Resort Lihue.
