A new FERRANDI Paris campus in Nice Méridia
The Nice Côte d’Azur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) and FERRANDI Paris have formalised a partnership to establish a new campus dedicated to gastronomy, hotel and restaurant management, and hospitality professions.
The campus will be located in Nice Méridia, an economic and urban development district within the Nice metropolitan area.
The announcement was made by Jean-Pierre Savarino, President of the CCI Nice Côte d’Azur and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Studiel Group.
The project also involves the Paris Île-de-France Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as part of FERRANDI Paris’s regional development strategy.
The new campus is intended to bring higher education provision closer to the needs of tourism and hospitality businesses in the region.
First student intake scheduled for September 2027
The first students will be welcomed in September 2027, with the launch of FERRANDI Paris’s Bachelor Management Hôtelier et Restauration (Bachelor’s Degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management).
In the longer term, the campus is expected to accommodate more than 400 students.
The project therefore envisages the gradual development of educational programmes dedicated to gastronomy, food and beverage operations, and hospitality professions.
The announcement does not specify which additional programmes may be offered, the timetable for increasing student capacity or the investment required to develop the campus.
Addressing recruitment needs across the French Riviera
For the CCI Nice Côte d’Azur, the objective extends beyond establishing another higher education institution.
The project aims to help develop a local pool of qualified professionals in a region where hotels, restaurants and tourism activities play a significant role in the economy.
Jean-Pierre Savarino particularly emphasises that the French Riviera’s appeal as a tourism destination depends on the skills of its professionals and the ability of businesses to recruit appropriately trained employees.
The establishment of FERRANDI Paris in Nice is therefore intended to strengthen the relationship between educational programmes and employers’ operational requirements.
This proximity could also facilitate internships, professional placements and relationships between hotels, restaurant operators and students, depending on the arrangements ultimately introduced.
LTH Analysis | Training as a strategic priority for French Riviera hospitality
The arrival of FERRANDI Paris in Nice addresses a structural challenge facing the hotel industry: aligning employers’ recruitment requirements with the skills available within local labour markets.
For upscale hotels, access to employees trained in accommodation operations, food and beverage services, and management is a determining factor in service quality and operational continuity.
Establishing a specialised campus can help develop skills locally and strengthen relationships between businesses and future graduates.
It also raises the question of talent retention.
Training students on the French Riviera does not necessarily guarantee that they will remain in the region. Career prospects, employment conditions, housing costs and opportunities for professional advancement remain essential considerations.
For hotel operators, the value of the project will therefore also depend on its ability to establish lasting pathways between initial education, potential work-study opportunities and entry into employment.
With its first intake scheduled for September 2027 and a target capacity exceeding 400 students, the future FERRANDI Paris campus in Nice could become a new resource for skills development within the French Riviera’s hospitality and tourism ecosystem.
