An internal succession at Oetker Hotels

Le Bristol Paris, one of the flagship addresses of the Oetker Hotels group, has confirmed the arrival of Fabrice Moizan at its head. He becomes President and Managing Director with effect from 28 September 2026, leading one of the most iconic Palaces in the world.

The appointment, announced by the group in the spring, follows the departure of Luca Allegri, whose resignation LTH reported last January. At the time of the announcement, Oetker Hotels also confirmed that Fabrice Moizan would join its Executive Committee while remaining involved with Eden Rock.

The timing is symbolic: the Palace on the Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, which recently unveiled its new Eden Suite, opens the first chapter of its second century with this change of leadership.

More than a decade at Eden Rock – St Barths

Fabrice Moizan had led Eden Rock – St Barths for more than ten years. He first worked alongside the hotel’s founders, David and Jane Matthews, before overseeing the property’s reconstruction after Hurricane Irma, followed by a period of strong growth.

He built this track record in tandem with Jean-Alexis Costa, his long-standing deputy, who has now been promoted to General Manager of Eden Rock. Under their joint leadership, the Caribbean hotel has repeatedly been ranked among the best hotels in the world.

From Deauville to Best Hotelier of the Year

Fabrice Moizan began his hotel career in France, at the Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy Deauville, before building a distinguished career in luxury hospitality. Widely respected within the profession, he was named Best Hotelier of the Year at DUCO France 2025.

His arrival at Le Bristol carries particular significance. His mentor, Pierre Ferchaud, ran the house for almost twenty years, a lineage the new head openly embraces.

Fabrice Moizan said that leading Le Bristol was every hotelier’s dream, describing it as one of the most iconic hotels in the world. He added that it also marked a return to his roots, as his mentor, Pierre Ferchaud, had run Le Bristol for almost twenty years, and that Ferchaud’s unwavering attention to detail and his philosophy of always putting himself in the guest’s shoes had profoundly shaped his own approach to hospitality. He said he looked forward to joining new colleagues in Paris and to contributing to the continued success of this legendary Palace, bringing fresh energy while honouring its extraordinary heritage.

Hospitality built on attentiveness rather than protocol

Fabrice Moizan champions a vision of luxury hospitality that is more natural, spontaneous and unpretentious, where excellence is felt without ever being imposed. In his view, the guest experience should stem from well-judged attentiveness rather than from protocol.

A family-owned house with a deeply human character, Le Bristol Paris strikes him as the ideal place to embody this philosophy. Staff loyalty is central there: some team members have spent years welcoming guests, as if into their own home, whose children have since grown into adults.

The new President cites the example of Jean-Marie Burlet, who has worked at the lobby reception for more than 35 years and who does not merely greet guests but remembers them. For Fabrice Moizan, a great hotel rests on a continuity that cannot be manufactured, sustained by teams who have been there for decades and by the passing on of know-how, of which Chef Arnaud Faye, who trains Le Bristol’s kitchen brigades, is in his view the finest illustration.

A management committee assembled around the new President

Fabrice Moizan will be supported by a management team comprising Aurélie Martin, Hotel Manager; Frédéric Kaiser, Director of Food & Beverage; Catherine Hodoul-Baudry, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing; Hélène Jouët-Asselin, Director of Administration & Finance; Sara Khati, Head of Rooms Division; and Matthieu Bourdon, Regional Director of Engineering.

Our analysis – By entrusting its Parisian Palace to a leader drawn from its own collection, Oetker Hotels is prioritising cultural continuity and internal promotion, a logic extended by Jean-Alexis Costa’s appointment as General Manager of Eden Rock.
