A dual-brand destination in Jiaxing
Hyatt Regency Jiaxing Nanhu marks the arrival of the Hyatt Regency brand in Jiaxing, a historic city renowned for its canals. The hotel opens shortly after Hyatt Place Jiaxing Nanhu, located on the same lakeside site. Both properties are led by the same general manager, Katharine Li.
Katharine Li said the team was proud to bring the Hyatt Regency brand to Jiaxing, a city of great historical significance and natural beauty. She added that the opening of Hyatt Regency Jiaxing Nanhu completes the dual-hotel project on the site, offering guests a choice between the upscale, full-service experience of Hyatt Regency hotels and the efficient, comfortable stay offered by Hyatt Place hotels.
For Hyatt, the opening is a further step in strengthening its brand portfolio in the Yangtze River Delta region. The group has already applied this multi-brand destination approach in the region, with the opening of an integrated complex of three Hyatt Regency and Hyatt Place hotels in Lingang, Shanghai.
A location at the heart of the Yangtze River Delta
The hotel is located in the South Lake district, a short walk from the lakeshore, and sits directly next to Nanhu Place, a retail, dining and entertainment complex. Shanghai, Hangzhou and Suzhou are each around an hour away by car, and the site is served by high-speed rail and air links.
Several cultural sites are close by: the 5A-rated South Lake scenic area, the Yuehe historic district, whose history dates back 1,700 years, and Zicheng Ruins Park. The property complements Hyatt’s presence in the region, where the group recently opened KYLN Hotel Suzhou under the JdV by Hyatt brand.
201 rooms inspired by Jiangnan aesthetics
The interior design draws on Jiaxing’s cultural heritage and the refined aesthetics of the Jiangnan region, combined with contemporary comfort. The 201 rooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the gardens, a work area and modern technology.
The Camp Hyatt kids’ club caters to families. Suites and executive-floor rooms provide access to the Regency Club, which includes breakfast, all-day coffee and evening cocktails in the Club Lounge. Guests are also offered curated routes for exploring the South Lake area.
A dining offer built around three concepts
The culinary offer is structured around three themes: elegant receptions, celebratory dining and local discoveries. The Lobby Lounge recreates the atmosphere of a traditional Jiangnan courtyard and hosts afternoon tea and informal meetings.
Xiangyue, the Chinese restaurant, showcases seasonal produce and flavours unique to Jiaxing, prepared using classic techniques. Market Cafe, with its open kitchen and multiple stations, serves international and local dishes from breakfast to dinner, with a waterside terrace.
More than 4,500 sq m of event space
MICE is one of the property’s key pillars, with more than 4,500 sq m of meeting and event space. The offer includes a pillarless grand ballroom, a second ballroom and ten VIP meeting rooms, all equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology.
These spaces are designed for large-scale conferences, product launches, corporate banquets, weddings and private events. The culinary team offers bespoke, locally inspired menus, and a dedicated team supports organisers from planning through to execution.
Wellness and loyalty programme
The hotel features a 24-hour fitness centre and a heated indoor swimming pool. Walking and running trails follow the shores of South Lake.
As part of the new hotel offer, World of Hyatt members can earn 500 bonus points per qualifying night from 28 September to 31 December 2026, with no registration required and combinable with other offers.
Analysis – This opening is part of sustained growth momentum for the group, whose pipeline reached a record 151,000 rooms in the first quarter of 2026. Pairing a Hyatt Regency and a Hyatt Place on a single site allows the group to address two customer segments, from business travel to leisure stays, from a single destination.
