Kasada and Laureus Sport for Good Foundation South Africa announced a national strategic partnership on 6 October 2026, making the hospitality private equity platform the foundation's official hospitality partner. Employment Law | Dismissal: a delivery notice left on the envelope renders the procedure irregular
On 11 December 2024, France's Cour de cassation ruled that the dismissal procedure for an in-house lawyer was irregular because her letter inviting her to a pre-dismissal interview had never actually been presented at her home. Although gross misconduct was upheld, the employer was ordered to pay €6,887 in total, a decision that reminds all employers, hoteliers included, that the postal risk lies with them.

Employment Law | Moral Harassment: France’s Top Court Recognises “Environmental Harassment”
In a ruling dated 8 July 2026, the labour division of the Cour de cassation has confirmed that an employee can be a victim of moral harassment purely as a result of degrading management methods imposed on their team, without having been personally targeted by the conduct in question. Handed down in a case brought by a former HR director against her employer, the Centrale d'approvisionnement des Landes, the decision significantly widens the scope of moral harassment as previously defined by lower courts. For HR leadership teams, it means rethinking how a degraded managerial climate can, on its own, expose an employer to liability.

US | Braemar Hotels & Resorts sells Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale for €318m and completes its exit from Ashford
Braemar Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: BHR) has signed a definitive agreement to sell the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale, in Arizona, for $372 million (around €318m). Closing is expected on 22 October 2026. The Dallas-based listed REIT is using the proceeds to fund its separation from Ashford Inc. and will become a self-managed REIT focused on seven luxury hotels in the United States and the Caribbean.

Frasers Property Limited has announced the departure of Chin Fen Eu, CEO of Frasers Hospitality, effective 1 January 2027. The Singapore-based group is using the transition to split the governance of its hospitality arm between operations, entrusted to Chew Hang Song, and investment, placed under the responsibility of Eric Gan.
