Hilton has announced the signing of the DoubleTree by Hilton Parramatta, a 100-room hotel scheduled to open in the fourth quarter of 2028 at 34 Hassall Street, Parramatta. The property will form part of Cosmopolitan, a mixed-use development led by Deicorp, and will be operated by Trilogy Hotels under a franchise agreement.

The signing brings the DoubleTree by Hilton brand to Parramatta for the first time and strengthens Hilton’s portfolio across Greater Sydney, as the city increasingly establishes itself as a second business hub within the Australian metropolis.

A hotel embedded within a major urban development

The DoubleTree by Hilton Parramatta will sit within Cosmopolitan, a mixed-use scheme designed by Turner Studio comprising 597 apartments across two 46-storey towers, along with a three-level podium bringing together retail, office space, dining and hospitality. Construction is currently under way.

The hotel will offer 100 rooms ranging from 20 to 45 sqm, an all-day restaurant and bar, and 667 sqm of event space including meeting rooms, a boardroom and pre-function areas. Fitness and wellness facilities will round out the offering.

The location benefits from transport connectivity that stakeholders consider strategic: the Parramatta Light Rail stop sits directly at the edge of the site, close to the railway station and the Parramatta river wharf. Sydney’s future metro is expected to add a further connection, while Parramatta Square, the Westmead health precinct and Western Sydney University all remain within short reach.

Hilton deepens its footprint in western Sydney

Tushar Raniga, development director for Hilton Australasia, said in a LinkedIn post that Parramatta’s economic growth and connectivity made it a suitable site for the DoubleTree by Hilton brand. He noted that the signing reflected the group’s growth momentum across Australasia and its strategy of expanding into high-demand urban markets.

He also observed that Parramatta is establishing itself as Sydney’s second central business district, underpinned by substantial infrastructure investment and a diversified demand base, which he said made it a fitting location for the brand. The signing forms part of a broader push to strengthen Hilton’s presence in Australia, where the group continues to expand its franchise agreements with local operators.

Fouad Deiri, founder of Deicorp, said the hotel reflected Parramatta’s transformation and the growing demand for quality hotel accommodation in western Sydney. He described the region as one of Australia’s most significant zones of economic and residential growth, justifying the inclusion of an internationally branded hotel within the Cosmopolitan project.

The announcement comes as western Sydney’s tourism economy enters a sustained growth phase, driven by population growth, several major infrastructure projects and the opening of Western Sydney International Airport. Industry analyses point to a growing need for hotel capacity in the area, with major events identified as a key driver of this demand.

Scott Boyes, managing director of Trilogy Hotels, described this new collaboration with Deicorp, this time under Hilton franchise, as the continuation of a long-standing partnership. He set out a clear division of roles between the three parties: development vision led by Deicorp, brand strength and distribution provided by Hilton, and local operating expertise from Trilogy.

He also highlighted Parramatta’s transport links, the strength of its business core and the scale of new residential development as factors lending credibility to the project, with Trilogy committed to delivering a hotel that performs for owners, meets guest expectations and creates value for its teams.
