ACHM Hotels by Marriott announces it has reached an agreement with the Bettoja family for the Hotel Atlantico and the Hotel Mediterraneo to join its Rome portfolio. Two properties carrying nearly 150 years of family history, brought together around a shared goal: to become Italy’s first Autograph Collection hotels. The integration, carried out in two phases, will combine both buildings’ historic heritage with Marriott’s international standards.

The deal provides for the integration of the two buildings to create a single hotel complex, which will operate under the Autograph Collection brand, Marriott International’s banner dedicated to independently minded luxury properties. The Hotel Atlantico will join the portfolio in the first quarter of next year, while the Hotel Mediterraneo will follow the year after. This transformation will result in a unique upscale hotel in the heart of Rome, just steps from Termini station.

The deal provides for a significant redevelopment of both buildings, aimed at enhancing their historic and architectural heritage while integrating it with Marriott’s international standards. The future of the Hotel Mediterraneo carries particular significance: this masterpiece of Italian Rationalism, designed by architect Mario Loreti, is protected by Italy’s Ministry of Culture.

For Maurizio Bettoja, President of Aziende Alberghiere Bettoja, this agreement represents “the opportunity to project two icons of Roman hospitality into the future, while preserving their identity and history.”

This initiative ranks among ACHM Hotels by Marriott’s most ambitious projects in Italy, a market where the company continues its growth strategy across southern Europe’s major urban and leisure destinations. ACHM currently manages more than 75 hotels in Spain, Italy and Portugal under various Marriott International brands, with a goal of doubling its portfolio to around 140 properties in the coming years.
