Six Senses Fort Barwara announces the appointment of Burkhard Wolter as General Manager. With more than three decades of international luxury hospitality experience across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Caribbean, he brings solid operational expertise along with a strong passion for people, culture and guest experience.

Burkhard Wolter has held senior positions within some of the world’s most renowned luxury hotel brands, including Shangri-La, Four Seasons, Rosewood, Raffles, Kempinski, Oberoi Hotels & Resorts and Orient-Express. His career has spanned luxury resorts, heritage hotels, city properties, cruise ships and boutique addresses, giving him a comprehensive understanding of the industry.

He most recently held the position of Vice President Hospitality & Asset Management at Emerald Palace Group in Dubai, where he oversaw the group’s hotel and real estate portfolio, including the Raffles the Palm, the Hyde Hotel Dubai and the Kempinski Residences & Hotel Apartments. He had previously led, as Area General Manager, several properties of the Beaumier group in Switzerland, after having served as Managing Director of the Waldhaus Flims Wellness Resort, Autograph Collection.

His career also includes General Manager roles at Oberoi Hotels & Resorts properties in the United Arab Emirates, as well as several General Manager positions at Kempinski Hotels, in Dubai and then Moscow, where he notably led the pre-opening of a property on the Palm Jumeirah. He also led the Palais Namaskar in Marrakech and held management positions with Shangri-La in Muscat, Four Seasons in Riyadh and Orient-Express in Cape Town.

In his new role, Burkhard Wolter will oversee all operations at the Six Senses Fort Barwara, with a focus on enhancing the guest experience, developing teams and strengthening sustainability initiatives. “His strategic vision and people-focused leadership style will be invaluable in continuing to strengthen the property’s positioning as a leading destination for transformative luxury,” said Neil Palmer, Chief Operating Officer of Six Senses.

He holds an MBA in Hospitality Administration from the École hôtelière de Lausanne, as well as certificates in real estate investment and asset management, and in strategic hospitality management, from Cornell University.
