Included in the 2027 social security financing bill (PLFSS) with no details or timetable, the measure has been described as a disguised delisting by the National Council of Thermal Establishments (CNETh), just days before the bill goes before the National Assembly.

2030, United Kingdom | Virgin orders 12 high-speed trains from Alstom to challenge Eurostar on cross-Channel routes
Virgin has placed a firm order with Alstom for 12 Avelia Stream high-speed trainsets, worth between €650 million and €700 million. The operator plans 13 daily return services between Paris and London from 2030, before extending its offer to Brussels and Amsterdam. It thus becomes Eurostar's first competitor since the Channel Tunnel opened, with an onboard experience inspired by Virgin Atlantic, Virgin Voyages and Virgin Hotels.

Morocco | Four Seasons announces a resort in Tangier, its fourth property in Morocco
On 8 October 2026, Four Seasons and Royal Resort Cap Malabata, a development company backed by GFH, announced plans for Four Seasons Resort Tangier in Morocco. The resort will be located at Cap Malabata, overlooking the Strait of Gibraltar. With 99 keys, it will become the group's fourth property in the country, after Casablanca, Marrakech and Rabat.

The 1,588-room Chelsea Toronto, part of Langham Hospitality Group's portfolio, unveiled its new brand identity on 29 September 2026. The announcement concludes a four-year, hotel-wide transformation programme representing an investment of approximately €52m (more than CAD 85 million). For one of Canada's largest hotels, the challenge is to remain relevant to the next generation of leisure, business and group travellers.

Germany | In Frankfurt, The Blasky becomes Vienna House by Wyndham Frankfurt South
The Blasky Hotel & Rooftop, located in the Sachsenhausen district on the south bank of the River Main, is joining the Vienna House by Wyndham brand as Vienna House by Wyndham Frankfurt South. The 104-room hotel occupies a former office building converted in 2019. It is now changing flags and launching a works programme that will take its capacity to 139 rooms and suites by the end of 2027.

British group Hiddenwell, formerly Barons Eden, is committing £25m (around €29m) to the transformation of Ardencote Manor in Warwickshire, which is due to reopen in early 2027. The largest investment in the group's history will make the estate its third destination spa in the UK, four months after the adoption of its new identity.

Puente Romano Marbella has entrusted its general management to Francesco Roccato, who joins the Golden Mile resort in October 2026. The Italian hotelier returns to a destination he knows well: he opened Nobu Hotel Marbella in 2016, before spending eight years with Rocco Forte Hotels, where he most recently led the group's operations in Northern Italy.

Marking its tenth anniversary, French hotel collection Chapitre Six, founded by Nicolas Saltiel, has unveiled a complete overhaul of its identity, spanning brand platform, logo, film and website. The new brand architecture comes on the eve of two landmark openings: the Bourbon Hotel in Courchevel 1850 this winter, followed by a five-star hotel club in Cannes, billed as the collection's most ambitious project to date.

Swedish property company AMF Fastigheter has selected Strawberry to operate a 191-room hotel under development in Marievik, south of central Stockholm.
