The Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, in Hoi An, Vietnam, announces the appointment of Joris Quintelier as Resort Manager. The appointment comes as the property celebrates ten years as part of the Four Seasons family, a milestone the Group intends to mark with a new phase of growth, guest experience innovation and talent development.
Joris Quintelier began his hospitality career at the Four Seasons Hotel George V, Paris, where he led a team of 30 employees at a young age, a formative experience in management and cross-cultural communication. He went on to complete his training with an MBA from EHL Hospitality Business School, in Switzerland, while based in Hong Kong, building on the undergraduate degree that laid the foundations of his hospitality career.
A Four Seasons veteran, he has led food and beverage operations across a wide range of settings, from intimate island resorts to large-scale city hotels and celebrated fine-dining addresses, notably including a standout tenure as Director of Food and Beverage at the Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong, then home to seven Michelin stars. This experience allowed him to refine his ability to combine operational rigour with intuitive warmth, two qualities associated with the Four Seasons brand.
Marcel Oostenbrink, General Manager of the Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, welcomed Joris Quintelier’s arrival at this iconic coastal property, noting that the breadth of his experience and his people-centred approach make him well suited to guide the resort’s next chapter, while honouring the heritage that makes it one of Vietnam’s most iconic destinations.
In his new role, Joris Quintelier will oversee the entire guest experience, including the dining offering, the wellness programme, the recently renovated villas, the landscaped gardens and the moments of service that define every stay. He will also play a key role in developing future talent, strengthening cross-functional collaboration and consolidating strategic partnerships with local stakeholders.
The executive said he was honoured to join the property at a pivotal moment in its journey, describing a place that brings together everything he loves about hospitality: authentic human connection, strong local roots and meaningful experiences. He notably cited the invisible details that shape guests’ stays, such as the traditions of the on-site temple or the work of the gardening team dedicated to maintaining the estate’s 4,500 coconut trees.
With a people-centred management approach, Joris Quintelier believes that exceptional hospitality rests above all on empowered teams. His experience across different cultures has also sharpened his sense of local rhythms, a key asset in steering the day-to-day running of the Four Seasons Resort The Nam Hai, where the focus lies less on the property’s scale than on its ability to make guests feel truly understood and immersed in the spirit of Central Vietnam.
