This appointment has a distinctive feature: it does not mark the arrival of a new executive at the property, but rather the continuation of her existing responsibilities under a different brand.

Since December 2024, she had served as General Manager – Gstaad Area for Ultima Collection, overseeing properties including Ultima Hotel Gstaad and Ultima Promenade Gstaad, a private property within the collection.

With the property now transitioning to Barrière’s management under the Fouquet’s brand, she is continuing her career in Gstaad alongside her teams.

On LinkedIn, she simply stated:

“Proud and fortunate to begin this new chapter with my team.”

A career built in luxury hospitality

Before moving to Gstaad, Marie-Cécile Bouchet-Pichon had already developed substantial experience within Ultima Collection.

From October 2020 to May 2024, she managed Ultima Hotel Courchevel, located in one of the Alpine region’s most sought-after luxury hospitality destinations.

In April 2024, she also took on the role of Corporate Head of Operation at Ultima Collection’s Geneva headquarters, a position she held until September of the same year.

Earlier in her career, she worked at Hôtel Les Roches Blanches in Cassis, serving as Rooms Division Director between March 2019 and October 2020. Her responsibilities covered accommodation operations, reservations, revenue management, concierge services and housekeeping, alongside various activities relating to marketing, communications and the spa.

She had previously spent almost four years with Sofitel in Marseille, progressively advancing through rooms operations, from reception duties to front office management.

Specialist education in luxury management

Marie-Cécile Bouchet-Pichon holds a Master of Science in Luxury Management, specialising in luxury hospitality and events, awarded by the International University of Monaco in 2015.

She also studied international business and merchandising, complemented by language studies in the United Kingdom.

LTH Analysis | Management continuity supports a brand repositioning

Marie-Cécile Bouchet-Pichon’s continued leadership at Fouquet’s Gstaad illustrates an important aspect of brand transitions in luxury hospitality: retaining operational expertise and knowledge of the local market.

In a destination such as Gstaad, where affluent international guests place particular importance on personalised service and continuity of relationships, retaining an experienced management team can provide a valuable source of stability.

For Barrière, this continuity supports the introduction of the Fouquet’s brand through an executive who already understands the properties, their teams and the expectations of their guests.
