Odyssey Hotel Group (OHG) is accelerating its momentum in the European hotel management market. The Dutch group has signed Hotel Management Agreements with Covivio covering four major properties in Germany. This deal takes OHG past 5,400 rooms under management and confirms the growing strength of the independent operator model serving institutional investors.
More than a simple management handover, this deal reflects the evolution of the European hospitality market. Institutional owners are increasingly favouring specialised management platforms capable of optimising the operational performance of their assets while preserving their heritage value. Covivio, which owns more than 280 hotels across Europe, is thereby entrusting Odyssey Hotel Group with the operation of four flagship properties located in major German metropolitan markets.
With this signing, Odyssey Hotel Group’s portfolio grows from around 4,200 to more than 5,400 rooms, an increase of nearly 30%. The deal also adds more than 6,500 square metres of meeting and event capacity, while premium properties now account for nearly half of the rooms operated by the group. The acquired portfolio comprises The Westin Grand Berlin (400 rooms, 11 meeting rooms), The Westin Leipzig (436 rooms, 49 conference rooms totalling 4,810 sqm), the Radisson Blu Hotel Leipzig (214 rooms) and the Mercure Hotel Potsdam City (210 rooms, 13 event spaces).

“This collaboration marks a decisive step in the group’s development,” said Gonzalo Carpintero Navarro, CEO of Odyssey Hotel Group, noting that it reinforces the group’s expertise as a leading hotel manager for European institutional investors.

Bernardo Lazcano, Managing Director of ActivumSG, noted for his part that owners are now seeking partners capable of improving hotel performance, sustainably maximising asset value and managing the growing complexity of hotel operations.
Founded in the Netherlands in 2012 and owned since December 2020 by pan-European fund ActivumSG, Odyssey Hotel Group now operates 30 hotels across six European countries (Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Belgium, Sweden and Finland), with a pipeline of 25 additional properties and more than 1,800 employees.
