Radisson Hotel Group announces the opening of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Sinaia Cota 1400, a five-star, 68-room mountain hotel set in the heart of the Bucegi Mountains, in Romania. The building, whose history dates back to 1939 under the patronage of the Romanian Royal House, has undergone a careful restoration to welcome a new generation of travellers, while retaining its heritage character.

He explained that the combination of an iconic building’s heritage, the brand’s renowned alpine hospitality, direct access to the Bucegi Mountains and a remarkable wellness offering positions the hotel to welcome guests seeking memorable mountain experiences year-round.

Located on Strada Cota 1400, the property occupies a unique position in the heart of the Bucegi Mountains, right next to the cable car linking Cota 1400 to Cota 2000, providing year-round access to ski areas and hiking trails. Many of Sinaia’s landmark sites lie less than seven minutes away by car, including Peleș Castle, Sinaia Monastery and Sinaia Casino, while the nearby cable car provides access to the Sphinx and Babele rock formations on the Bucegi plateau.

The hotel offers 68 contemporary rooms and suites, including Standard rooms, Premium rooms, suites and an 89 sqm Presidential Suite. The interiors, inspired by contemporary alpine design, combine natural wood, stone and warm tones, with most rooms offering panoramic mountain views, while some Standard and Premium rooms feature private terraces.

On the dining side, COCON Restaurant offers contemporary European cuisine crafted from local, seasonal ingredients under the direction of Executive Chef Romică Harabagiu, with a selection of Romanian and international wines. The TONIC Bar & Cigar Lounge provides a social space throughout the day, from morning coffee to evening cocktails, with a dedicated cigar lounge. The opening, planned later this year, of STUDIO 1400 Après Ski & Terrace will round out the offering with casual dining and evening entertainment near the slopes.

The roughly 700 sqm FORÊT KITSUNE Spa & Wellness draws on Japanese wellness traditions and the natural surroundings of the Bucegi Mountains, featuring a heated indoor pool with hydrotherapy jets, a heated outdoor pool with mountain views, treatment rooms, saunas, a hammam, a steam bath and a salt room. A Technogym-equipped fitness centre with a retractable glass roof completes the wellness offering. For the winter season, individual heated lockers with integrated drying systems are available for skis, boots and winter sports equipment.

For events, the 122 sqm SFINX Events Hall can accommodate up to 126 guests in reception format, with a large-format LED screen, integrated audiovisual technology and dedicated catering space. Octavian Moldovan, General Manager of the property, noted that this is Romania’s first internationally branded five-star hotel at this altitude, and said he was honoured to see this remarkable building, whose history began in 1939, carefully restored for a new generation of travellers.
