Peter Wennink, Chairman of Heineken’s Supervisory Board, praised Rafael Oliveira as a dynamic, visionary leader, with a remarkable track record at the helm of major global consumer companies and a proven ability to turn complex challenges into clear organisational priorities. He noted that the Supervisory Board was confident in the new CEO’s ability to accelerate execution of the Group’s EverGreen 2030 strategy and create sustainable value for all its stakeholders.

Charlene de Carvalho-Heineken, the Group’s Executive Director, said she was pleased with the rigorous, global selection process that led to Rafael Oliveira’s appointment, highlighting his ability to translate strategy into disciplined execution, his strong people-centred leadership and the clarity of his strategic vision as the qualities needed to become an excellent CEO for Heineken.

Rafael Oliveira said he was honoured and excited to join Heineken, expressing confidence in the Group’s ability to accelerate growth, strengthen productivity and prepare the company for the future, by continuing to win consumers around the world. He succeeds Dolf van den Brink, who stepped down at the end of May after nearly six years leading the Group and more than 28 years with Heineken.
