Marriott International announces the opening of the Sheraton Port Moresby Stanley Hotel & Suites, marking the Sheraton brand’s debut in Papua New Guinea. The property, located in Port Moresby’s central business and cultural district, five minutes from Jacksons International Airport and connected to the Vision City Mega Mall, becomes the Group’s second hotel in the country.

This opening completes the previously announced conversion of the iconic Stanley Hotel & Suites, which had originally been planned for August 2025. The renovated property ultimately comprises 394 keys, made up of 284 rooms, 15 suites and 95 fully equipped apartments, the latter offering separate living areas and kitchens for extended stays and family travel.

The property offers more than 2,500 square metres of meeting and event space, including the country’s largest ballroom, as well as the new Sheraton Club. On the dining side, Silverleaf offers an à la carte menu centred on seafood and Josper-grilled dishes, while Greenhaus provides an internationally inspired buffet experience. The lobby also features &More by Sheraton, a café-bar concept, alongside the Monsoon Bar & Lounge and the Pool Bar & Café. Guests also have access to an infinity pool, one of the city’s most comprehensive fitness centres and a full-service spa.
