Simone Farci has been appointed General Manager of the JW Marriott Venice Resort & Spa, set on the private island of Isola delle Rose, in Venice. The property features 266 rooms and suites designed by architect Matteo Thun, four restaurants and a culinary academy. Under his leadership, the hotel aims to continue strengthening its reputation as a benchmark of European luxury, recently boosted by the first Michelin star awarded to its restaurant, Agli Amici Dopolavoro, and by a summer pop-up held in partnership with fashion house Missoni.
Simone Farci brings more than 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, spanning city hotels, beach resorts and casino operations, across Europe, Latin America and the Caribbean. Since January 2024, he had served as General Manager of the InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace, a 160-room and suite property in the heart of Rome, where he steered the brand’s positioning in the luxury market and developed relationships with leading luxury distribution networks.
Previously, he led the conversion of the Kempinski Dominica Cabrits into the InterContinental Dominica Cabrits Resort & Spa as General Manager overseeing the transition and pre-opening, while simultaneously retaining General Manager responsibilities at the Holiday Inn Aruba, Resort Spa and Casino. There, he notably drove revenue to more than $63 million in 2023, with a GOP of 40%, surpassing pre-pandemic levels.
His career also includes serving as General Manager of the Holiday Inn Santo Domingo and as Resort Manager of the 732-room Barcelo Punta Cana complex. Simone Farci holds a Master Certificate in Hospitality Administration as well as several Cornell University certifications, including the General Managers Program and a certification in hotel real estate investment and asset management.
