A takeover that ends a troubled period for the former Radisson Diamniadio
Senegal’s hotel landscape is about to see a significant shift in Diamniadio. Family-owned group Terrou-Bi will shortly take over the running and management of the former Radisson Blu, renamed Terrou-Bi Diamniadio. The arrival brings to an end a particularly turbulent period for a property built around the new town’s events infrastructure.
Located right next to the Abdou Diouf International Conference Centre (CICAD) and the exhibition centre, on the road leading to Blaise Diagne International Airport, the hotel has 152 rooms and suites. Its strategic location made it a natural anchor point for Diamniadio’s business and institutional clientele, including Senegal’s national team during its training camps.
The property had, however, been at a standstill for several months, following a dispute between staff and the operator. In January 2026, state agency SOGIP stepped in to take over the management process on behalf of the State, with the government subsequently voicing its intention to find a new operator.
Diamniadio, an emerging hotel hub in Senegal
In recent years, the new town of Diamniadio has established itself as a hotel hub in its own right, driven by its conference facilities and its position midway between Dakar and Blaise Diagne Airport. Marriott opened the country’s first Four Points by Sheraton there in 2025, within the Sports City complex, confirming international groups’ interest in the area.
Radisson Hotel Group, for its part, continues its expansion across the African continent, where the group has recently passed the milestone of 100 hotels open and in the pipeline. The brand’s withdrawal from Diamniadio opens the way for a local operator, more closely aligned with Senegalese institutions.
Phased growth for the Senegalese group
The takeover of the Radisson Diamniadio comes as the Terrou-Bi Resort on the Corniche Ouest is itself preparing to expand, as part of the Terrou-Bi 2026 project. The extension will add around a hundred new rooms, along with large-format suites, as well as MICE facilities including several conference rooms and an amphitheatre for hosting events and seminars.
With this dual momentum, the Terrou-Bi group now runs two properties under its own banner in Dakar and Diamniadio, positioning itself as a Senegalese hospitality player capable of managing several sites and responding to shifts in the local market, ahead of the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games.
