United States | Hilton launches Home2 Suites Clean Energy Prototype to cut owners’ energy costs
Hilton (NYSE: HLT) is now offering US hotel owners and developers the Home2 Suites by Hilton Clean Energy Prototype. The optional, turnkey model combines all-electric systems, renewable energy and an enhanced building envelope. It is the group's first prototype designed for zero operational emissions to be made widely available. It arrives as utility costs for US hotels have risen by 28% over five years.

2027, Malaysia | IHG introduces Garner and its franchise model with two hotels in Kota Kinabalu and Tawau
On 23 September 2026, IHG Hotels & Resorts signed a two-hotel agreement with King Park Hotel Sdn. Bhd, a subsidiary of investment group Hass Enterprise, in the Malaysian state of Sabah. The deal marks both the arrival of the Garner brand in Malaysia and the launch of IHG's franchise model in the country, a lever designed to unlock more conversion opportunities.

Since 1 September 2026, the agency MAIA has represented a selection of Michel Reybier Hospitality properties across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. The mandate covers two Swiss Alpine resorts, La Réserve Paris, La Réserve Genève and the forthcoming La Réserve Private Homes Seychelles. Elmira Amdiy, a former investment banker whose career took in Barclays Capital, Nomura and UBS, is the driving force behind London restaurant group Wild Group. She is now launching two projects on the French Riviera: a seven-bedroom private art villa at Hostellerie La Farandole, expected by the end of 2026, and Hôtel Les Chardons, a restored ensemble of historic buildings centred on wellness and longevity. Both projects take beyond London a portfolio valued at around €23 million (more than £20 million).

US | Braemar Hotels & Resorts sells Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale for €318m and completes its exit from Ashford
Braemar Hotels & Resorts (NYSE: BHR) has signed a definitive agreement to sell the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale, in Arizona, for $372 million (around €318m). Closing is expected on 22 October 2026. The Dallas-based listed REIT is using the proceeds to fund its separation from Ashford Inc. and will become a self-managed REIT focused on seven luxury hotels in the United States and the Caribbean.

Frasers Property Limited has announced the departure of Chin Fen Eu, CEO of Frasers Hospitality, effective 1 January 2027. The Singapore-based group is using the transition to split the governance of its hospitality arm between operations, entrusted to Chew Hang Song, and investment, placed under the responsibility of Eric Gan.
