Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has announced the opening of Conrad Nagoya, developed in partnership with Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd. The property marks the debut of Conrad Hotels & Resorts in Nagoya, Japan’s fourth most populous city and the capital of Aichi Prefecture in the Chubu region.

Beyond its role as an industrial hub, Nagoya boasts an acclaimed culinary scene, centuries-old craftsmanship and living cultural traditions. Conrad’s arrival forms part of an acceleration of Hilton’s luxury and lifestyle development across Asia-Pacific, where the group now aims for more than 250 properties.

A brand on a global growth trajectory

The largest brand in Hilton’s luxury portfolio, Conrad now counts 51 hotels across five continents, underpinned by a robust development pipeline. Conrad Nagoya embodies the fundamentals of this growth: bold contemporary design, intuitive service and experiences rooted in local culture.

“Conrad is a brand defined by curiosity, confidence and a deep connection to place, and Nagoya is a compelling expression of that,” said Dino Michael, senior vice president and category head, Hilton Luxury Brands. “The city combines exceptional craftsmanship, a rich food culture and contemporary energy, creating exactly the kind of destination where Conrad can offer something distinctive and relevant for today’s luxury traveller.”

An address atop Sakae’s new skyline

Occupying the upper floors of The Landmark Nagoya Sakae, the tallest skyscraper in the Sakae district, Conrad Nagoya benefits from a direct connection to Sakae Station. The hotel sits at the heart of the city’s business and shopping district, close to Nagoya Castle and Atsuta Shrine, and also serves as a gateway to Ise and Takayama.

Atsushi Nakajima, president and chief executive officer of Mitsubishi Estate Co., Ltd., described the hotel as the symbolic centrepiece of The Landmark Nagoya Sakae, conceived as a hub for cultural exchange and value creation for the district.

170 rooms overlooking the skyline

Conrad Nagoya features 170 rooms, including 29 suites of more than 50 sqm each, with floor-to-ceiling windows offering views over the city’s skyline. Every room incorporates bespoke metal artwork inspired by the energy of the Sakae district. The signature Conrad Suite occupies the 40th floor across 213 sqm, pairing bold design with residential-style comfort.

Six dining venues spread across two floors

Spread across the 31st and 40th floors, Conrad Nagoya’s six restaurants and bars showcase the cuisine of the Tokai region, blending contemporary Japanese and international influences. SUNDROP, the hotel’s lounge bar, offers afternoon tea, cocktails and international cuisine with city views, while CASA OLIVA celebrates Italian cuisine with a wine list of more than 100 references. SONGBIRD rounds out the offering with speciality coffee and pastries.

On the 40th floor, SORYU offers a contemporary sushi kaiseki experience and SOEN a teppan kaiseki rooted in Japanese tradition. HOUSE OF MON, the rooftop bar, completes the line-up with cocktails and panoramic views over the Nagoya skyline.

Wellness and event spaces

The wellness offering centres on the Conrad Spa, with four treatment rooms, an indoor pool, a sauna area and a 24-hour fitness centre. On the events side, the 10th and 11th floors house the Grand Ballroom, featuring 342 sqm of flexible space and an 8-metre-high ceiling, along with the Akari meeting rooms, divisible into four separate spaces.

The brand’s signature programme, Conrad 1/3/5, offers guests 1-, 3- or 5-hour itineraries to discover Nagoya according to the time available: a cocktail workshop, a tea ceremony, a craft beer tasting, a miso-making workshop, or access to Arimatsu Shibori craftsmanship, a 400-year-old dyeing technique.

A luxury strategy taking hold in Japan

Conrad Nagoya joins a global Conrad Hotels & Resorts portfolio spanning five continents and strengthens Hilton’s luxury presence in Japan, alongside the existing Conrad properties in Tokyo and Osaka. The group is already preparing the next stages of this development, with the upcoming opening of Conrad Yokohama, followed, in the longer term, by Conrad Kobe, signed in 2026 in Hyogo Prefecture for an opening planned in 2030.

This momentum confirms a particularly dense opening calendar for Hilton, which is simultaneously strengthening several of its luxury brands in the Japanese market, alongside names such as Waldorf Astoria and LXR Hotels & Resorts.

The hotel is located at 3-25-1 Nishiki, Naka-ku, Nagoya, Japan. Bookings are available via the hotel’s website or the Hilton Honors app.
