Hilton has announced the opening of Hilton Istanbul Airport, a 485-room hotel located in the immediate vicinity of one of the world’s busiest airports. The property is positioned as the first internationally branded hotel to be built on airport grounds in Türkiye, marking a symbolic milestone for the group: its 100th hotel in the country.

The group, present in Türkiye for more than seventy years, continues its sustained development in the Turkish market, driven by both its lifestyle brands and the historic names in its portfolio. This latest opening forms part of that momentum, with a positioning designed to capture business travellers, leisure guests and transit passengers alike.

A strategic position at the airport’s doorstep

Located just metres from the terminal, Hilton Istanbul Airport offers rooms with runway views, a dining offer inspired by the destination, extensive wellness facilities and flexible meeting spaces. A metro station directly opposite the hotel also provides swift access to Istanbul’s city centre and to landmark sites such as Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque.

This combination of airport proximity and accessibility to the historic heart of the city is one of the property’s key positioning strengths, designed to serve as both a stopover and a destination in its own right.

A design inspired by Istanbul’s heritage

The hotel’s interior design draws on Istanbul’s distinctive character, blending historic heritage with contemporary energy. The spaces feature natural stone, metallic finishes and premium materials, with a colour palette evoking the city’s historic districts, its skyline silhouette and the shifting hues of the Sea of Marmara.

OXBO makes its Turkish debut

Hilton Istanbul Airport also marks the Turkish debut of OXBO, the group’s international dining concept. Spread across three distinct spaces – a restaurant, a café and a 24-hour bar – OXBO showcases cuisine built around local ingredients, with a clear ambition of fostering conviviality and social connection throughout the day.

Event spaces and wellness facilities

The hotel features eight flexible meeting rooms as well as a large ballroom accommodating up to 250 guests, a format suited to seminars and corporate events. An executive lounge, with direct views of the runway and boarding gates, rounds out the offer for business travellers.

On the wellness side, the property offers an indoor pool, a sauna and a hammam accessible during set hours, as well as a fitness centre open 24 hours a day via key-card access. The spa includes three treatment rooms, one of which is dedicated to couples’ treatments.

A hundred hotels in Türkiye: a symbolic milestone

David Kelly, Senior Vice President, Continental Europe at Hilton, highlighted the significance of the opening: “Hilton has been welcoming travellers across Türkiye for more than 70 years, and the opening of Hilton Istanbul Airport as our 100th hotel in the country marks another important milestone in our history. Ideally located just steps from one of the world’s busiest airports, this flagship hotel combines Hilton’s iconic hospitality with contemporary design, thoughtful amenities and seamless connectivity for today’s international travellers.”

Tolga Aytan, General Manager of Hilton Istanbul Airport, in turn emphasised the operational significance of the project: “Situated at the heart of one of the world’s leading airport hubs, Hilton Istanbul Airport brings Hilton’s renowned hospitality right into the heart of Istanbul Airport. As Türkiye’s first Hilton airport hotel, we are proud to offer an elevated stay experience, with seamless access to the terminal, designed for travellers who value both their time and their comfort.”

2026 outlook: fourteen openings planned in Türkiye

Hilton Istanbul Airport forms part of a particularly busy pipeline of openings for the group in Türkiye, with fourteen properties expected over the course of the year. This portfolio notably includes the major renovation of the Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, the first Hilton hotel ever opened outside the Americas, as well as the group’s first cave hotel in Cappadocia, the Turkish debut of the Spark by Hilton brand, and the forthcoming opening of Porto Chiara, Curio Collection by Hilton.

This acceleration of the Turkish pipeline is part of the group’s broader growth strategy, which also delivered a record global pipeline as reported in its 2025 results. The hotel is part of Hilton Honors, the group’s loyalty programme spanning all 28 of its brands.
