BWH Hotels, the international hotel group that brings together the WorldHotels, Best Western Hotels & Resorts and SureStay Hotels brands, has announced the continued development of its boutique brand Aiden by Best Western. Positioned within a contemporary segment firmly rooted in its local surroundings, the brand now counts 58 hotels around the world, with more than 20 new projects in the pipeline. This momentum forms part of a broader growth trend across the group, already seen in other portfolio brands (more than 40 openings recently recorded under the Best Western banner).

Four notable openings since January 2026

The brand strengthened its European footprint with the opening of Aiden by Best Western Velbert in January 2026, in Germany, a property designed to reflect the identity of its neighbourhood. In May 2026, Aiden made its debut in Thailand with the opening of Aiden Surawong Bangkok, a 77-room hotel designed for urban travellers and digital nomads.

That same month, the brand unveiled Aiden by Best Western Sacramento Downtown, a hotel whose design draws on the local creative scene of the Californian capital. In June 2026, the opening of Aiden by Best Western Kansas City Downtown rounded out this series, with a property inspired by the city’s creative energy and culinary scene.

A pipeline of more than 20 projects in strategic markets

Brand development continues with several openings expected by 2027. Aiden Denver, due to open in autumn 2026 in the creative RiNo district, will feature Rooftop Social, a rooftop dining and bar space with skyline views. Around the same time, Aiden Tempe will open in Arizona with a new dining concept called Burnt Flour, centred on wood-fired pizza, close to the Arizona State University campus.

Also in autumn 2026, the brand will make its Canadian debut with Aiden Toronto Airport, a 145-room boutique hotel created from the conversion of a former office building, featuring a glass-atrium restaurant and a jazz-inspired cocktail bar. A fifth project is expected in summer 2027 in Pullman, Washington State, near Washington State University, with an offering geared towards wine tourism and outdoor activities in the Palouse region.

Local art as a brand signature

The “Art Welcomes You In” programme is a key point of differentiation for Aiden. Launched in Sacramento with a 16.8-metre mural by Californian artist John Osgood, the initiative pairs local artists with hotel design teams to create permanent installations reflecting the history and cultural identity of each neighbourhood. The programme will soon be extended to Aiden Denver, where artists will be commissioned to create works inspired by the character of the district.

A strategy built on flexibility and loyalty

“Today’s travellers are no longer looking for a hotel that looks like the last one. They want places with their own personality, a sense of discovery and a connection to the destination. That’s exactly what Aiden delivers,” said Brad LeBlanc, Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer of BWH Hotels. He noted that each hotel retains its own creative identity while benefiting from the scale and support of a global hotel group.

Aiden’s flexible development model allows owners to combine distinctive architectural design with access to the Best Western Rewards loyalty programme, one of the most extensive in the industry. This approach is part of BWH Hotels’ broader portfolio diversification strategy, which has also seen the group strengthen its lifestyle offering with sister brand WorldHotels (recently expanded with a collection dedicated to glamping and nature-based stays), and continues its international development, notably in Africa (where the group recently announced an acceleration of its development).
