🏨 Reopening
On Isle of Pines, in New Caledonia, Domaine d’Oro, the former Le Méridien closed for more than two years, reopened its doors on 7 August. Thirty of its 48 bungalows are once again available to book, with around twenty staff recalled, and 150 million CFP francs invested in works. The property moves from a management contract to a franchise agreement with Marriott, with the Company hôtelière de Nouméa taking over operations directly.

In Toulon, the iconic Hôtel de la mer, abandoned since 2012, is set to be revived by Var-based developer Suprana, not as a hotel but as a residence of nine upscale apartments and commercial units, with delivery planned for the third quarter of 2028.

According to industry chatter, several head of HR changes are expected in Parisian luxury hospitality this autumn: Karine Cheval, currently at Le Méridien Etoile, is said to be taking over at the Grand Hôtel Paris InterContinental, succeeding Nelly Chandèze, who is expected to join Oetker Collection in a global role, while Sylvie Quintin, HR Director at the Peninsula Paris, is set to join Maybourne to prepare the opening of the future Maybourne Saint-Germain.

A hotel, leisure and gaming complex valued at an estimated $500 million could be built in Yerevan, Armenia, led by Global Tribe Gaming in collaboration with Dvin Hotel Complex and Seven Visions Resort & Places. The project, which includes an additional hotel tower, is expected to create around 1,000 jobs.
