Melco Resorts has announced the appointment of Mark Tricano as Senior Vice President and Property President of City of Dreams Manila, effective mid-September. He succeeds the legendary Geoff Andres, who has chosen to retire to be reunited with his family in the United States, according to an internal memo. The appointment comes as Melco recently abandoned plans to sell its 50% stake in the Philippine resort, confirming the strategic importance of the asset within the group’s portfolio.
A change of leadership after more than a decade
Geoff Andres is stepping down after more than ten years with Melco, a journey that began at City of Dreams Manila, followed by a brief spell at Studio City in Macau, before returning to lead the Philippine property at the end of 2020. Melco praised Andres’s loyalty and dedication, describing him as a standout figure within the company.
Mark Tricano will report directly to Evan Winkler, President of parent company Melco Resorts.
A career built between Las Vegas and Macau
Mark Tricano brings more than twenty years of experience in the casino and hospitality industries, spanning Macau, Las Vegas and several US cities. He most recently served as Senior Vice President of Operations at Station Casinos, where he was responsible for financial planning, workforce strategy and operational efficiency across a workforce of 7,800 employees.
Prior to that, he was President of Fontainebleau Las Vegas, where he led the pre-opening phase of the US$3.7 billion integrated resort. He also served as General Manager of Red Rock Resort, Station Casinos’ flagship property, along with several senior roles at JACK Entertainment, having begun his career at Harrah’s Entertainment.
Between 2019 and 2022, Mark Tricano served as Senior Vice President at Galaxy Entertainment Group in Macau, where he oversaw gaming development and optimisation, workforce planning and hotel revenue management for casinos generating US$7.5 billion in gross gaming revenue annually.
A background spanning military engineering and finance
Mark Tricano graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with a Bachelor of Science in General Management, before completing an MBA in Finance and Accounting at Vanderbilt University.
Melco reaffirms its strategic commitment to the Philippines
The appointment comes as Melco recently abandoned its plan to sell its 50% stake in City of Dreams Manila, following a strategic review. The group thus confirms its long-term commitment to the Philippine market, one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic gaming and hospitality destinations.
