Evelyne Chabrot, who devoted more than four decades to Accor, including more than twenty years in senior human resources roles, passed away on Saturday 8 August 2026. Having joined the group in 1974, she accompanied its major transformations before embarking on a second career in coaching and personal development.

The Hongkong and Shanghai Hotels, owner of the Peninsula Hotels group, reports first-half results marked by a return to profitability, with profit attributable to shareholders of HK$23 million, compared with a HK$289 million loss a year earlier. Driven by strong RevPAR growth in Greater China and the United States, the Group also announces HK$2.1 billion in renovation plans for the Peninsula Hong Kong and the Peninsula Tokyo.
