France | ADVENN Launches La Compagnie des Caps, Targeting Ten Hotels Within Five Years

Three months after acquiring Le Grand Bé in Saint-Malo, ADVENN, formerly Groupe Télégramme, has formally entered the hospitality sector with the launch of La Compagnie des Caps. Led by Régis Rassouli, the new division aims to build a portfolio of approximately ten hotels within five years, primarily in Brittany and along France's Atlantic coast. The group is considering both acquisitions and partnerships with independent hotel owners.

Former Groupe Télégramme makes hospitality its fourth business pillar

Following media, employment and events, ADVENN is opening up a fourth area of development: tourism and hospitality.

The Brittany-based group, historically known for the daily newspaper Le Télégramme, has announced the creation of La Compagnie des Caps, a new entity designed to develop a portfolio of distinctive hotels.

The initiative comes just weeks after the adoption of the ADVENN identity, unveiled in September 2026 to reflect the group’s gradual diversification.

With 1,330 employees and revenue of €280 million, ADVENN now generates 65% of its business outside the media sector.

Tourism and hospitality therefore represent a new growth opportunity, building on the group’s expansion into employment services through Hellowork and events through OC Sport.

For Jean-Baptiste Pavin, Managing Director of ADVENN, this fourth division will enable the group to continue diversifying while promoting the regions in which it operates.

Le Grand Bé in Saint-Malo, the portfolio’s first property

The new division already has its first hotel.

In July 2026, ADVENN acquired Le Grand Bé, a four-star hotel located within the historic walled city of Saint-Malo.

The property features 55 rooms and suites, a spa, dining facilities, a bar, a rooftop and facilities for seminars and corporate events.

This first acquisition illustrates the positioning sought by La Compagnie des Caps: properties with their own distinctive identities, strong connections to their destinations and the ability to attract different customer segments.

ADVENN has not disclosed the amount invested in acquiring Le Grand Bé or the property’s financial performance.

Ten hotels within five years, without standardising their identities

La Compagnie des Caps aims to establish a portfolio of approximately ten properties over the next five years.

Development will initially focus on Brittany and France’s Atlantic coast, regions historically connected to the group’s activities.

The new division will be led by Régis Rassouli, Deputy Director of Development at ADVENN.

Unlike a traditional hotel chain, La Compagnie des Caps intends to preserve the individual identity of each property joining its portfolio.

The project is therefore not based on rolling out a uniform hotel brand, but on gradually assembling a collection of independent properties brought together under a shared strategy.

According to Régis Rassouli, further investment opportunities are already under consideration.

The group also intends to incorporate experiences connected to its established business activities, particularly information, travel and adventure.

Acquisitions and partnerships with independent hotel owners

One of the most interesting aspects of the announcement concerns the arrangements being considered to build the portfolio.

ADVENN is not limiting its strategy to real estate acquisitions.

The group is also exploring partnership arrangements with hotel owners seeking to secure the future of their properties while preserving their independence.

“We believe we are in a position to offer continuity solutions to hotel owners who, like us, are committed to independence and service quality, whether through acquisitions or partnerships,” explains Edouard Coudurier, Chairman of ADVENN.

This approach could enable the group to become involved in hotel ownership succession transactions, particularly among independent properties whose owners are seeking a financial or strategic partner.

However, the legal structures of these partnerships, the financial investment criteria and the operating model for future properties have not yet been detailed.

Synergies with Hellowork and OC Sport

La Compagnie des Caps will be able to draw on several areas of expertise already established within ADVENN.

These include recruitment and employment expertise through Hellowork, as well as the organisation of sporting, cultural and corporate events through OC Sport and the group’s other events businesses.

These complementary capabilities could support hotel business development, staff recruitment, seminar organisation and the creation of destination-related experiences.

The hospitality business could therefore benefit from an existing ecosystem built around communications, destination attractiveness, events and customer relationships.

LTH Analysis | ADVENN positions itself in the succession market for independent hotels

ADVENN’s announcement is significant for reasons extending beyond the entry of another diversified group into hospitality.

La Compagnie des Caps could become a consolidator of regional independent hotels, targeting properties with strong local roots and distinctive market positioning.

The explicit reference to continuity solutions for hotel owners is an important signal.

It suggests a strategy capable of addressing several situations: the sale of a family-owned hotel, the search for a development partner, intergenerational ownership succession or the need for greater commercial structure.

For owners, the potential attraction lies in access to financial resources and shared expertise without necessarily sacrificing their hotel’s identity.

For ADVENN, this approach could enable the creation of a portfolio of differentiated assets while leveraging its regional presence and existing businesses.

However, the project’s success will depend on several factors that remain unknown: the amount of capital available for investment, the balance between acquisitions and partnerships, the governance model for individual properties and the group’s ability to develop operational hotel expertise.

The target of ten hotels within five years represents a measured ambition in terms of portfolio size, but nevertheless constitutes a significant step change for a group entering the sector with an initial 55-room property.

Developments to watch: future acquisitions, the establishment of dedicated hotel management teams and the partnership structures offered to independent owners.
