From Dakar to Conakry: a return to his roots

Micky Mohamed has taken the helm of Noom Hotel Conakry, a five-star property comprising 187 rooms, three food and beverage outlets and six meeting and conference rooms.

The appointment marks another milestone in a career built primarily within Mangalis Hotel Group, which he joined ten years ago.

The new General Manager arrives from Dakar, where he had served as Acting General Manager of Noom Hotel Dakar Sea Plaza since March 2026. The five-star, 237-room property is affiliated with Radisson Individuals.

He held this responsibility alongside his position as Director of Sales & Marketing, a role he had occupied since October 2025.

This experience enabled him to oversee a property with six food and beverage outlets, thirteen conference rooms and approximately 500 employees, assuming direct responsibility for operations, financial performance and service quality.

He also supported the property’s transition from its former Radisson Blu branding to Noom Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals.

Progressing from reception to general management

Micky Mohamed’s career is particularly noteworthy because it began at the very property he now manages.

He joined Noom Hotel Conakry in September 2016 as a receptionist, progressing rapidly through the positions of Night Receptionist, Night Manager and Assistant Front Office Manager.

In 2020, he assumed responsibility for the Front Office and Reservations department, leading a team of approximately twenty employees.

Over four years, he developed his expertise in rooms division management, distribution, revenue management and guest experience.

In January 2024, he was promoted to Director of Sales at Noom Hotel Conakry.

He subsequently took responsibility for developing the corporate, groups, MICE, leisure and institutional segments, alongside monitoring the property’s principal commercial performance indicators.

His transfer to Dakar in October 2025 enabled him to broaden his responsibilities to include marketing and overall commercial strategy, before assuming the position of Acting General Manager a few months later.

This progression has enabled him to develop expertise in both operations and commercial management, complemented by recent experience overseeing the financial performance of a large hotel.

A mandate focused on performance and operational standards

In Conakry, Micky Mohamed will be responsible for overseeing all hotel activities, ensuring operational and financial performance, and maintaining Mangalis Hotel Group’s quality standards.

His experience includes managing the hotel’s profit and loss account, optimising revenue, controlling operating expenses and monitoring GOP and EBITDA indicators.

He also brings extensive knowledge of Guinea’s economic environment and its corporate and institutional markets, acquired through his previous positions.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Tourism and Hotel Management from the École supérieure du tourisme et de l’hôtellerie de Guinée, as well as a master’s degree in Operational Unit Management from Collège de Paris, according to the group’s announcement.

Announced by Dorethy Pesseu, CEO of Mangalis Hotel Group, the appointment reflects a policy of recognising and developing internal talent.

It comes as the group continues its development in West Africa, particularly in Senegal, where its projects include Yaas Hotel Dakar Republique.

This development strategy was recently examined in our article on Mangalis Hotel Group’s development in Senegal.

Micky Mohamed’s appointment also reflects the group’s intention to capitalise on local market knowledge and experience gained across the properties in its portfolio.

For Noom Hotel Conakry, his return offers an operational advantage: the new General Manager already knows the property, its teams, its customers and its competitive environment.

Beyond the appointment itself, his career illustrates the value of internal mobility in developing a pipeline of future general managers, particularly within hotel groups pursuing regional development.
