IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened the Holiday Inn & Suites Commerce City-Denver Airport in Colorado. It is the first newly built hotel constructed to the Holiday Inn brand’s new lobby concept, an architectural and operational evolution designed to better reflect the habits of today’s business and leisure travellers.
A new lobby concept designed around the guest experience
The hotel’s lobby brings together reception, an ordering counter and a full-service bar within a single space. This centralised layout is intended to streamline the guest journey from the moment of arrival, while delivering operational efficiencies for hotel owners.
The hotel also features flexible spaces for groups and meetings, complemented by a dining offer and happy-hour formats. IHG Hotels & Resorts continues to roll out its brands across several continents, with a development strategy increasingly built around the modernisation of its reception concepts.
A strategic position near Denver Airport
Developed by NibbleNook Hospitality, the 106-room hotel is located less than ten minutes from Denver International Airport, with a complimentary shuttle available to all guests. The pet-friendly property targets a mixed guest base of business travellers, groups and leisure guests, with convenient access to major local employers, healthcare facilities and sports infrastructure in the area.
Guest rooms feature dedicated zones for working, relaxing and sleeping, with a desk area, premium bedding and blackout curtains. The hotel also offers a heated indoor pool, a 24-hour fitness centre, an outdoor terrace with a fireplace, and electric vehicle charging points.
A refreshed dining offer
The Mile High Landing restaurant is complemented by an expanded breakfast buffet and a full-service bar, designed as an all-day gathering space. The evening menu offers classic American dishes designed for sharing, alongside crafted cocktails, beers and wines. The hotel also retains the brand’s long-standing Kids Stay and Eat Free* offer for families.
Leadership perspectives

Meredith Moore, Vice President, Holiday Inn by IHG, global, said: “For nearly 75 years, Holiday Inn has welcomed generations of travellers with comfort, value and genuine hospitality. As we approach this anniversary, we remain focused on evolving the brand for today’s travellers, while staying true to what has made Holiday Inn one of the most trusted hotel brands in the world.”
Pawan Kharbanda and Mohit Kumar, Managing Members of NibbleNook Hospitality, said: “As Denver-based owners, our ambition was not simply to build another hotel, but to create a place that becomes part of our guests’ story in this city. We are particularly proud to invest in our community and to create a hotel that combines the trust associated with the Holiday Inn by IHG brand with the warmth of independent operation.”
A growing brand ahead of its 75th anniversary
Holiday Inn has retained, for the sixth consecutive year, the title of most trusted hotel and travel brand in the United States, according to Morning Consult Intelligence data. The brand continues to grow globally, with more than 1,200 hotels open and more than 300 in the pipeline. The next opening to feature the new lobby concept will be the Holiday Inn Fort Worth – Fossil Creek.
This growth is accompanied by ongoing attention to traveller expectations, a focus that IHG also explores through its studies on hospitality consumer trends. Internationally, the brand also continues to sign new projects, including the planned arrival of Holiday Inn in Dakar in 2027.
