Marriott International continues to build out its Series by Marriott collection in the South Pacific. The US group has announced that three resorts operated by Company Hôtelière de Nouméa (SHN), together known as Le Domaine du Pacifique, will join its regional collection brand. The move covers properties in Nouméa, the Isle of Pines and Bourail, New Caledonia.
The announcement extends a commercial relationship between Marriott and SHN dating back more than three decades. It also follows on from the conversion of Le Domaine Oro on the Isle of Pines to a Marriott franchise, which reopened in early August under the same banner following a closure of more than two years and a renovation project.
A franchise model for all three properties
The three resorts, historically run under management contracts, are now moving to a franchise model, with SHN taking direct control of operations at the sites while retaining their Marriott Bonvoy affiliation. The contractual shift reflects a desire to strengthen the New Caledonian operator’s management autonomy, while maintaining access to the US group’s standards and distribution.

Cristiano Rinaldi, Chief Lodging Product & Services Officer, Asia Pacific excluding China at Marriott International, notes that Series by Marriott is a regionally designed, globally connected collection brand that celebrates the individuality of destinations through authentic local experiences alongside the group’s standards of reliability. He describes the addition of the three New Caledonian resorts as a significant step in the brand’s development in the Pacific.
Le Domaine Déva, on the edge of a UNESCO-listed reef
Located in Bourail, within the Domaine de Déva nature reserve, this beachfront property sits alongside a barrier reef listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. It comprises 120 rooms with Melanesian-inspired design, split between suites and bungalows built in Kanak architectural style, with garden or beach views.
The offering includes direct beach access, an outdoor pool, a Deep Nature Spa wellness area, and access to the Déva golf course. The surrounding estate, a protected 7,800-hectare dry forest reserve, features 158 kilometres of marked trails leading to the World Heritage-listed lagoon.
Le Domaine Oro, on the Isle of Pines
Set on Oro Bay, this 48-room resort, including 28 bungalow suites, positions itself as a relaxation-focused island address, in close proximity to Oro Bay, a natural site regularly ranked among the South Pacific’s most beautiful lagoons for swimming and snorkelling. The property has an infinity pool, a wellness area and water sports equipment (kayaking, paddleboarding, snorkelling).
Le Domaine Nouméa, on the lagoon front
The third property, located on Anse Vata bay, facing the largest UNESCO-listed lagoon, offers 207 rooms including 34 suites. It has seven meeting rooms, including a ballroom that can host up to 400 people, as well as direct beach access and a wellness centre.
Part of Series by Marriott’s regional strategy
The Series by Marriott brand, initially launched in India through a multi-hotel agreement covering more than 25 properties, continues to expand across Asia-Pacific. It has notably expanded into Japan with the opening of the Sugata Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi, ahead of this latest development in the South Pacific. The brand targets the midscale and upscale segments, allowing established regional operators to retain their identity while benefiting from the group’s distribution and standards.
Brieuc Frogier, president of Promosud, an SHN board member and second vice-president of the Province Sud in charge of the tourism sector, said the new agreements open a new chapter in the relationship with Marriott International. He added that the aim is to strengthen each property’s own identity while continuing to draw on the expertise of a global hospitality player, as part of efforts to develop a high-quality, internationally oriented offering.
Bonvoy as a distribution lever for the destination
All three resorts join the Marriott Bonvoy loyalty programme, whose global membership passed 295 million members in the second quarter of 2026. For SHN, this affiliation provides a direct international distribution lever, as Province Sud seeks to consolidate a hospitality offering with international positioning.
