The American high-performance wellness specialist has signed its second hotel worldwide, on the Red Sea coast

Red Sea Global (RSG), the developer behind regenerative tourism in Saudi Arabia, has announced the opening of Equinox Resort AMAALA at Marina Village, in Triple Bay. The property marks the second hotel worldwide for Equinox Hotels and its very first outside the United States, a milestone for a brand that has until now been focused on its home market.

The resort features 128 rooms and suites across six categories, including two penthouses, alongside 21 branded residences. Designed by Foster + Partners, with interiors by Rockwell Group, the property draws inspiration from the coastline, the marine environment and the mountains that frame the bay.

A focus on performance and recovery

Equinox Resort AMAALA reflects the brand’s integrated ecosystem, built around movement, nutrition, regeneration and community. The property offers 704 sqm of indoor and outdoor training space, making it the largest fitness facility in the AMAALA destination to date.

The rooms have been designed as dedicated recovery environments, based on Equinox Hotels’ sleep science platform. Circadian lighting, enhanced acoustic insulation and precision climate control are intended to support guests’ body clocks and the quality of their rest.

A 1,602 sqm spa built around a seven-step journey

The resort’s spa is built around the Equinox X Circuit, a proprietary seven-step journey combining cryotherapy, infrared sauna, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, hydrotherapy and contrast temperature therapies. The property also has four outdoor pools, including a lap pool and a rooftop magnesium-salt pool, with views over the AMAALA marina and yacht club.

On the dining side, four concepts — Mint + Co, Soho Souk, Sama Ai and EQX Den — offer what the brand describes as an “indulgently healthy” approach, combining culinary ambition with alignment to the brand’s wellness positioning.

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, said the opening of Equinox Resort AMAALA introduces a new dimension to the destination’s wellness offering. He noted that Equinox has built a global reputation around high-performance living, and that bringing this expertise to AMAALA reinforces the ambition to create a destination where wellness, sport and luxury come together in a genuinely differentiated way.

AMAALA’s hotel pipeline continues to build momentum

Equinox Resort AMAALA joins a growing collection of luxury brands supporting the destination’s ramp-up. Rosewood AMAALA opened in August 2026, while Nammos Resort AMAALA and the forthcoming Ritz-Carlton AMAALA round out the portfolio under development in Triple Bay. Once complete, AMAALA is set to comprise more than 1,600 rooms across nine resorts, alongside branded residences, wellness facilities, a marina and retail and dining offerings.

For Equinox Hotels, the opening confirms an international expansion strategy already under way on the Arabian Peninsula, where the brand is also preparing Equinox Resort Treyam within NEOM, while continuing to build its presence in the Caribbean with the Equinox Resort Anguilla Port Nimara project.

Red Sea Global, driving Saudi regenerative tourism

Red Sea Global describes itself as an integrated real estate developer active in tourism, residential, infrastructure, transport and healthcare. Its destination portfolio includes The Red Sea, welcoming guests since 2023, Thuwal Private Retreat, opened in 2024, and now AMAALA, which welcomed its first guests in 2026. RSG has also overseen the renovation of Al Wajh International Airport, whose new terminal reopened in May 2026.
