Meliá Hotels International has announced the signing of Ocaria Retreat Mui Ne, Member of Meliá Collection, a five-star beachfront sanctuary that will become the very first Meliá Collection property in Vietnam. The project marks the arrival of the group’s fifth brand in the country, where Meliá already operates 22 hotels and has six further projects under development, making Vietnam one of its strongest footholds in Asia-Pacific.
Due to open in 2029, Ocaria Retreat Mui Ne will offer 187 accommodations, comprising 156 rooms and 31 villas. Conceived as a wellness-focused coastal retreat, the property has been designed with wind patterns and the sun’s path in mind, featuring curved, sea-facing forms and terracotta façades inspired by the surrounding dunes. The resort will feature several dining concepts, a spa, a fitness centre, flexible meeting spaces, a kids’ club and an outdoor pool overlooking the coastline.
The property will occupy one of Mui Ne’s most sought-after beachfront sites. Once a fishing village, Mui Ne has become a well-known beach destination famed for its red sand dunes and cultural authenticity. The destination is a three-hour drive from Ho Chi Minh City via the Long Thanh–Dau Giay–Phan Thiet expressway, a journey set to shorten further once the new Phan Thiet Airport opens.
The property is owned by Nam Chau Tourism JSC, marking the start of a new partnership for Meliá in Vietnam. The official signing ceremony took place in Ho Chi Minh City, bringing together leadership from both companies to mark the project.
