The group’s lifestyle brand makes its second entry into Mexico in a restored Art Deco building in the historic centre
Hilton (NYSE: HLT) has announced the opening of the Motto by Hilton Guadalajara Centro Historico, a 154-room lifestyle hotel located in the heart of Guadalajara’s historic centre. Owned and developed by Grupo Megaterra, the property occupies a fully restored 1950s Art Deco building originally designed by architect Agustín Acevedo as a residential block.
The opening brings the Motto by Hilton positioning to Guadalajara for the first time — a brand built around local rootedness, with compact rooms, flexible configurations and food and beverage concepts inspired by the surrounding neighbourhood. It is the group’s second Motto property in Mexico, in a market where Hilton continues to expand its development activity in Guadalajara, notably in the branded residences segment.
A strategic location at the heart of local heritage
The hotel is located one block from Plaza Fundadores, considered the birthplace of Guadalajara. The location places guests within walking distance of the city’s principal cultural landmarks, including the Teatro Degollado, the Instituto Cultural Cabañas, Guadalajara Cathedral and the San Juan market.
While its function has changed, the building retains its original functionalist Art Deco architecture, now reinterpreted to house the Motto experience: urban design, compact rooms and locally rooted programming, without breaking from the site’s architectural heritage.
Flexible rooms designed for groups
The rooms have been designed with modular furniture and Hilton’s Confirmed Connecting Room technology, which allows for multiple connecting-room configurations to accommodate groups of all sizes. The hotel has 69 connecting rooms, with up to three able to be linked simultaneously.
Two neighbourhood-rooted dining concepts
The hotel’s communal spaces are built around two dining concepts intended to bring together guests and local residents. La BienQuerida, the property’s main restaurant, offers local cuisine that reinterprets the traditions of the classic Mexican cantina. Doña Elvira, the adjoining café, serves traditional Mexican breads and artisanal coffee.

Maxime Verstraete, Vice President of Brand Management for the Caribbean and Latin America at Hilton, said the opening marks an important milestone as the brand’s second Motto property in Mexico, reflecting the group’s ambition to strengthen its lifestyle portfolio in dynamic destinations across the region. He added that Guadalajara, a city defined by its culture and creativity, is a natural fit for the Motto brand identity, and that the hotel offers travellers a new way to experience the city through spaces designed for functionality, flexible configurations and a stay connected to the surrounding neighbourhood.
Growth underpinned by the loyalty programme
The Motto by Hilton Guadalajara Centro Historico participates in Hilton Honors, the group’s loyalty programme. Members booking through Hilton’s direct channels benefit from flexible points or cash booking options, exclusive discounts and complimentary standard Wi-Fi access. The Hilton Honors mobile app also enables online check-in, room selection and digital room access.
Sustained growth across the CALA region
The opening forms part of Hilton’s broader development across the Caribbean and Latin America region, where the group operates more than 300 hotels, with a pipeline of over 150 properties in development. Hilton closed the 2025 financial year with record growth momentum in the region, driven in particular by the luxury and lifestyle segments. Motto by Hilton is part of that momentum, as part of a worldwide expansion of the group’s lifestyle portfolio now spanning several continents.
